"We badly needed insulation in our attic. We got three quotes. Weather Shield was not only the most reasonable, but the only company in which the owner both gave us the quote and installed the insulation with colleague. We could not have asked for more professionalism or better service. Would highly recommend Gus."

"Jim Clay gave the most comprehensive quote for our insulation project. He suggested a couple of options which thought would help regulate the temperature in our home. He explained everything that ARC insulators would be doing to our home. He told us about rebates that would be credited to our bill because of a blower door pressure test and gas appliance combustion test. He presented a well-written quote. The technician for the tests and the technicians who did the insulation work showed up on time. They explained everything they were doing thoroughly. When the work was done, we did a thorough walk-thru before the techs left. We are satisfied with the work performed. We are satisfied with the money we paid. We would recommend ARC Insulation to anyone seeking recommendations."

"We needed to rehab a family member's attic and crawlspace that had no ventilation and mold/moisture as a result. Jay came in and based on his experience, he assessed exactly what was needed to fix all of the problems. His team came in and created proper ducts for the kitchen and bathroom vents, cleared all of the soffit vents, added more roof caps, added baffles, removed all of the old insulation and added new insulation (to R49) and removed ALL of the mold. Looked like a brand new attic! His team also removed all the mold in the crawlspace and placed a vapor barrier down there, and covered all of the walls with foam insulation - problems also fixed in crawl. All of this was completed at a reasonable price. We were so pleased and impressed with ARC's work that we had our own attic worked on. The ARC team assessed my home for proper ventilation and insulation and worked magic in the attic (added soffit vents, baffles, sealed all gaps, raised insulation levels to R49) and added new roof caps. While the crew was working on the attic, they noticed that the ceiling drywall had detached from the attic joists (and informed me that the drywall was sagging). Rather than blowing it off as someone else's problem, not saying anything and just adding the insulation (which would have made the ceiling cave into the house), his team spent 6 extra hours adding screwing the drywall back in place (raised ceiling 1/2" back up. I can't thank them enough for catching this and informing me. Their honesty and integrity impressed me, along with their expertise and knowledge of proper ventilation and insulation. Both levels of my house are now the same temperature and my furnace is working less to heat the house. I can't thank them enough. ARC's team kept me informed each step of the way during both jobs, they were extremely quick in their responsiveness and were professional and on time during both jobs. Thanks Jay - we are sending more referrals your way."

"Attic Air absolutely lived up to their reputation. They did a GREAT job! I did my research in creating a short list of 3 bidders for the job. I have a bi-level house (4 levels) with 2 attics. We had black mold on the underside of the roof which we had remediated a week before having Attic Air come in to fix our ventilation and insulation issues. Our upstairs floor was cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The attic ventilation and insulation needed to get fixed, and I wanted to make sure I hired a good company to do it the right way so I never had to worry about it again. I made the right choice. The temperature throughout the house is so much more even now. Before Attic Air came out, the basement and sub-basement were freezing and the first and second floors were warm and hot. My over-sized top of the line Trane a/c unit was working overdrive to try to cool the 2nd floor and never could do it. The top floor is so much cooler now than before. It's really going to save my a/c unit in the long run. Attic Air was not the lowest bid of the 3, but you get what you pay for. If you want to get the best quality this is the company you want. I would haven't have changed a thing. Worth every penny!"

"I am very pleased with my new windows. I used Home Genius Exteriors to do my roof, gutter protection, and now Windows. This is an absolute amazing company, my salesman brendan was very helpful, Devan the Project Manager helped make sure everything went smoothly. Walter and Mike also from production were very friendly and professional. And Shawn, the window installer was polite, knowlagable, and efficient. And even cleaned up on his way out. Next on the agenda is to get a new door taken care of. Highly recommend HGE"

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

How you hang the drywall can affect the finishing process. It's often easier to finish horizontal drywall panels, as the seams run across the wall rather than up and down. Standard drywall panels are 48 inches wide, so the seam is easy to reach without bending down or stretching your arms.

While not always necessary, you can glue a drywall ceiling in addition to using screws or nails. Drywall is typically secured to ceiling joists with fasteners, which is often sufficient. However, adding construction adhesive can offer benefits like preventing sagging, bridging gaps, and reducing air leaks for better energy efficiency. It may also be used for specific acoustic or insulation needs. On the other hand, many professionals advise against it because properly placed screws make the drywall structural, glue doesn't add strength, and it makes future repairs or replacements significantly more difficult. Ultimately, it's best to follow local building codes and project-specific requirements to decide if adhesive is right for your ceiling.

If you plan on heating your garage, you must install a vapor barrier when drywalling the garage. A vapor barrier protects your garage from frost and mold that can occur through condensation. If your garage is unheated, you don't need to install a vapor barrier. The only exception is if you regularly crank the heat in your car before getting in it. In this case, you may still want to install a vapor barrier, as your car can heat your garage.

Glass walls are more expensive overall than their brick or drywall counterparts. However, if you need walls for a building with more than two or three stories, glass walls are the more budget-friendly option.

If you’re looking for a reliable plaster repair company, you should start by researching local companies in your area and reviewing their status with the Better Business Bureau. Next, you can contact the potential companies to ask about experience levels, get a list of references, and ask for examples of past work. If you have a textured wall, consider asking if they have examples or references for that particular texture. This method should help you narrow your search even further. You may also want to ask each company if they provide a warranty for their work.
