Arc was great from the start. We were given a complimentary consultation by Steve Garrett, who gave us a detailed explanation on the issues we may have with our attic insulation and why our energy bills may be so high. We chose to have our attic insulated and our ducts sealed. Our ducts saw a 93.5% improvement, and we immediately noticed the difference in the temperature of our second floor. Even during this prolonged heat wave, we have been able to keep our temperatures much lower than before. The attic insulation has also decreased the temperatures of the upstairs. It has been a remarkable difference. We are fully expecting our house to be more comfortable in the winter as well. Steve is honest and reliable and we would not hesitate to recommend Arc to anyone who needs insulation and duct work.

Overall, it was a great experience, and I was pleased with the final results. I was having issues with keeping my second floor at a reasonable temperature without having the first floor frigid. I was looking at potentially going dual zone, but it seemed overkill for the size of the house. After reaching out for an energy assessment, Steve Garrett walked me through his findings and recommendations after agreeing on work that needed to be done. The installation was a breeze from scheduling to the actual work. Luis T. and Eleazar were professional and accommodating over the 2-day job, especially given I do work from home.

We were shocked to learn we had mice and squirrels in our crawl space/attic...and that our insulation was old and useless. We found ARC on Angi's list and were contacted immediately. Within a few days we had a thorough in-home consultation and a proposal. Energy Specialist David Puralewski explained the details patiently and thoroughly, and shortly thereafter the work was performed as promised by Juan, Antonio and Fernando. Due to an ice **** this past winter, we has extensive water damage inside the home. Every kept telling me, "You need more insulation!" so I called ARC. Robert came out and gave me an honest assement of the work needed. In fact, he told me that I didn't even need more insulation in the part of the attic I though I did. He also took the time to help me discover the root of my water issue! I will be forever grateful. It turns out I did need quite a bit of insultion in another part of my attic. The worker were efficient and cleaned up after themselves. I would hire the company again if needed.

This review was written by my wife, Nina. We chose ARC over its competitors mainly because of Robert, ARC’s sales representative. Robert gave detailed explanations and submitted a detailed proposal of the scope of work. He also was open to negotiate the price. It took 8 hours and a hard working three-man team to do the job. When job was done, the lead man went through the scope of work listing in all details. He showed full knowledge of the flaws and existing imperfections in our house that had been discovered by Robert and listed in the proposal. The lead man and his team were very soft spoken, well mannered, modest, quiet, respectful, and showed perfect professional ethics. Thanks to the lead man we now have a proper venting connection of our bathroom fan. It was poorly done by the GC and missed by the expensive roofers. The lead man redid it. ARC is an integrated team of various specialists. Its painters showed up and fixed spots where the nails popped out a little bit because of the work above. They did this the same day and it looks like those nail pops were never there. We are glad that all electrical work in the attic had been done prior to the insulation because it would be very hard to dig through the deep layers of Nu-Wool (NW) material to install lighting cans or other electrical work. The entrance to the part of the attic above the bedrooms was permanently sealed, though it can be forced open in case of necessity to enter that space. An important topic is the type of insulating material. Homeowners who need new insulation do not have much choice of material because ARC’s competitors also offered the same NW. During his presentation Robert demonstrated NW insulation material, which was pressed in a box. We think that this demonstration is a little misleading. As a matter of fact, the customers receive not pressed NW material but very fluffy, light, and dusty material. It did not settle under gravity for a very long time and stays in the environment for a long time. Eventually it did settle creating a layer of gray dust on all surfaces. Continuous thorough cleaning in the house will be necessary until sedimentation will finally come to an end. It is especially important if you want to insulate the entire space under the roof, including the bedrooms and space above the garage. You do not want to inhale dust during your night's sleep. It is not nice to have NW flying in attic, which you may continue using as a storage space. In this regard we think that air duct cleaning should be done no earlier than a month after insulation. It would be nice, very appreciated, and rewarding to the owners if ARC could offer covering the NW surface to prevent light NW material from flying around. It could be done a month or two later.

We needed to rehab a family member's attic and crawlspace that had no ventilation and mold/moisture as a result. Jay came in and based on his experience, he assessed exactly what was needed to fix all of the problems. His team came in and created proper ducts for the kitchen and bathroom vents, cleared all of the soffit vents, added more roof caps, added baffles, removed all of the old insulation and added new insulation (to R49) and removed ALL of the mold. Looked like a brand new attic! His team also removed all the mold in the crawlspace and placed a vapor barrier down there, and covered all of the walls with foam insulation - problems also fixed in crawl. All of this was completed at a reasonable price. We were so pleased and impressed with ARC's work that we had our own attic worked on. The ARC team assessed my home for proper ventilation and insulation and worked magic in the attic (added soffit vents, baffles, sealed all gaps, raised insulation levels to R49) and added new roof caps. While the crew was working on the attic, they noticed that the ceiling drywall had detached from the attic joists (and informed me that the drywall was sagging). Rather than blowing it off as someone else's problem, not saying anything and just adding the insulation (which would have made the ceiling cave into the house), his team spent 6 extra hours adding screwing the drywall back in place (raised ceiling 1/2" back up. I can't thank them enough for catching this and informing me. Their honesty and integrity impressed me, along with their expertise and knowledge of proper ventilation and insulation. Both levels of my house are now the same temperature and my furnace is working less to heat the house. I can't thank them enough. ARC's team kept me informed each step of the way during both jobs, they were extremely quick in their responsiveness and were professional and on time during both jobs. Initial visit by Chris seemed to go well. He told me he would email me an estimate. Last time I ever heard from him. I called the office and was told they would reach out to him to call me back. Never happened.

They did a good job. They took off all the siding and blew in insulation.

Robert was very helpful and patient during our consultation and was willing to take the time to understand our somewhat-complicated split-level house to make sure he was recommending the right work to be done. We ended up going with closed-cell foam under the floor in the crawl-space of a bump-out room, on the rim joists in the basement, and in the lower 2 feet where a foundation wall had been left un-insulated above the frost line. As an extra bonus, ARC Insulation was also willing/able to coordinate with the general contractor for a bathroom remodel we were doing around the same time, and foamed the exterior wall of the bathroom while the wall was open for the remodel. Also, I would say a sign of a good company is how they handle unexpected set-backs. In our case, when the foam truck arrived at the agreed-to time, unfortunately the foam machine had stopped working, and the workers were unable to start the job (truck needed to be brought in for repairs). Craig was extremely helpful to keep our project (and the bathroom remodel) on track and was able to get another truck to come out the following morning. The following morning, the workers arrived on time, did a reasonable job at protecting areas not being sprayed (all I noticed was some red spots on the carpet from when they snapped a chalk line and some overspray on the wall that would need re-painting anyways), and cleaned up after themselves when done. Shortly after they finished, there was a chemical-like smell for a few hours, which I was able to get rid of by running fans in the windows for a while. After 24 hours, there was no detectable smell. Finally, ARC Insulation was quite understanding / helpful when the general contractor for my bathroom remodel complained that the foam stuck out past the furring strips on the wall, preventing them from installing cement board for the shower. That same afternoon, two workers came to trim down the excess foam, and the shower-work was able to proceed the following day.
