Attic Air

It went really well. Robert Carroll really knows his stuff. Hire this guy. I say that without reservation of any kind. Don't look any further, believe me, I did. This is the smartest guy. He is honest, dependable, offers fair pricing, and his team can do all the work. I got several estimates from A+ rated insulation companies, but Robert was more knowledgeable than the other companies. He was the only one to point out that my soffits were not vented. Apparently, my house was built on the day no one was inspecting. The builder never cut open the soffits. That meant there was zero airflow going through my attic. The attic fan could run all day, but without air to move, it would not do any good. Only Robert noticed this and offered a solution to fix the problem! I asked some of the other A+ companies if they would vent the soffits and they all said they don't do that work, but they would be happy to add more insulation, which would not fix the problem if the attic was not vented.

I met Robert for an estimate. Robert is a straight shooter, gave a competitive estimate, and no pressure at all. I decided to go with him after another estimate I got was borderline gouging. I was impressed with how efficiently and quickly his crew worked. These guys know what they are doing. Many companies can insulate an attic but Attic Air can also replace attic and bathroom fans. Make sure your soffit though has holes in it to let air into the attic. This was an optional piece for me but the crew chief explained to me the new attic fan that was being installed would burn out if there was not enough air coming in from the soffit for the fans to circulate. I also took advantage to replace two other very old bathroom fans with more powerful Panasonic 100 cfm LED fans to take advantage of the crew being in the attic. My second floor used to be 3 degrees cooler than what the thermostat showed on the first floor, but is now 1 degree or no difference. I am hoping I won't need a separate cooler fan in the summer on the second floor. Didn't need a separate heater for winter at least or shiver unless I brought up the temperature on first floor.

Robert and team did a very nice job of improving my attic's ventilation. They added 12 vents and enlarged the existing ones. They also blew in additional ventilation. They were very professional, clean, and quick. Good value.

I was looking to have the floor between the garage and the bedrooms above it insulated. Robert did a thorough investigation and what I needed and made some other recommendations as well. The quote was very competitive and I struggled in my contractor choice. I ultimately went with another proposal. However, I would highly recommend Attic Air and have passed on their information to a couple of people that have asked.

Attic Air absolutely lived up to their reputation. They did a GREAT job! I did my research in creating a short list of 3 bidders for the job. I have a bi-level house (4 levels) with 2 attics. We had black mold on the underside of the roof which we had remediated a week before having Attic Air come in to fix our ventilation and insulation issues. Our upstairs floor was cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The attic ventilation and insulation needed to get fixed, and I wanted to make sure I hired a good company to do it the right way so I never had to worry about it again. I made the right choice. The temperature throughout the house is so much more even now. Before Attic Air came out, the basement and sub-basement were freezing and the first and second floors were warm and hot. My over-sized top of the line Trane a/c unit was working overdrive to try to cool the 2nd floor and never could do it. The top floor is so much cooler now than before. It's really going to save my a/c unit in the long run. Attic Air was not the lowest bid of the 3, but you get what you pay for. If you want to get the best quality this is the company you want. I would haven't have changed a thing. Worth every penny!

Went well. There were 4 guys and were done in less than 2 hours. Protected floor and stairs with drop cloths and cleaned up but there was very little mess. All guys were polite and open for any questions we had but I had none. Said to call if we had any questions later on. Could immediately tell difference with air conditioning. Could never keep up in this kind of weather even with my new air conditioner.

Old ceiling exhaust fan in bathroom was replaced with new unit (provided by contractor) and connected to existing roof vent. Entire job efficiently completed in only 25 minutes. They disposed of old fan and all debris. Very happy with end result.

A few years ago we had our attic re-insulated and this past spring we had a new roof put on our house. After the roof installation we noticed some nail pops in our ceiling (we have trusses) and as a precautionary measure I contacted AtticAir for an attic inspection to make sure that the insulation was ok as well as the proper attic ventilation was installed. Steve was prompt (appt was at 4:00 and he arrived a few minutes early), thorough and best of all said there was no work to be done. He explained everything that was up in the attic and that everything was up to spec, airflow was fine, attic fan was working and that there was no need to spend money up there!

Attic Air was on time. They showed up with a four man crew including the owner and were complete in 2-3 hours. They blew in Pro Pink insulation into my 1200 SQF attic bringing it up from R15 to R49 rating ($1,560) They vented an existing bathroom fan out to the roof ($245). They cut out 5 holes in my gambrel roof and installed 5 soffit vents ($450). They added a 1250 CFM attic fan for $545. I paid $2,800 for the entire job. I noticed right away that the upstairs was a bit more comfortable in the winter. There used to be what felt like a 20 degree temperature differential between the first and second floors. Now it feels like more of a 10 degree difference. The attic fan keeps the attic cool in the summertime. That is the biggest improvement we have noticed in the home. All in all, this money is well spent and it will pay for itself in energy savings over time. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Attic Air again.

Robert and Alex was very responsive from the beginning of my inquiry. The crew did great work. In/out of my house in less than 4 hours. Added insulation to the attic. Also cleaned up knee wall areas, removed old insulation and replaced with new. Also added 4 new roof vents and replaced the powered attic fan. Crew cleaned up after themselves.. Everyone very professional. Fine work.

Awesome job. These are the guys to hire. They showed up 45 minutes early, got right to work. Kept me informed every step of the way. Only took them about two hours. Work was excellent, house was left clean. They discovered the issue with the exhaust fan collar and corrected it. Put eight additional inches of insulation throughout the attic and even more above our toddler's room, which had been very cold. We can tell the difference now as far as warmth. They also attached a block of insulation to the access panel in her room to further hold in heat. Company owner came by to inspect the work mid-project. They insisted I take a look at the attic work so I was satisfied. Honored the 5 percent off coupon from Angie's List.
