"I am writing as the board president of Providence Gardens Condominiums in St. Louis. We entered into a contract with Chesterfield Fence and Deck (CF&D) in 2018 to remove and replace 38 decks and to update two others. We are very pleased with CF&D's work quality, professionalism and communication. The decks are strong, look terrific and will virtually eliminate the maintenance our prior wood decks required. While we did experience a few issues over the course of the project, CF&D resolved them properly, professionally and in a timely manner. CF&D really continually strived to please us. Many thanks to Ron Clayton (Sales), Dan Riffee (Production) and Melissa Gowen (Production)."

"I have a list of items that need done around the house and was looking for a dependable handyman who did good work at a reasonable price.  Richard fit the bill perfectly.  He lives nears us and I think that enabled him to work us in between other jobs and get our work done quickly.  He did a great job on everything and I still have things on my list for him to do.  I will also recommend him to a couple of friends who need a handyman.

"The job required a major updating from the ceiling and crown molding all the way to the floor. He was a very nice man and did a wonderful job for us. His help and sub contractors were very good as well. They worked like crazy in the heat and were diligent about getting the job done quickly and beautifully."

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

Armadillos are not considered friendly animals. They are solitary and tend to avoid human interaction. While not aggressive, they can be shy and reclusive, often scurrying away when approached. Armadillos may carry diseases, so handling them is not advised.

Groundhogs are non-aggressive animals that are afraid of humans. They forage for vegetation in yards and gardens, so they can often be seen as a nuisance if you spot one on your property. That said, if you happen to get bitten or scratched by a fearful groundhog, be sure to get checked by a doctor, as they could carry infections or diseases like rabies, Lyme, or the rare tularemia.

It may be better to have a mouse in your house than a rat. Rats are larger, more aggressive, and more difficult to eradicate once settled. One rat can cause more damage than one mouse. However, both animals pose a danger in that they can spread bacteria and contaminate food, so you’ll want to contact an exterminator as soon as you detect an infestation of either animal.

Yes, rats are social creatures that thrive together in packs. If you spot a solitary rat, there are likely more nearby. Their rapid breeding cycle and ability to slip through minute gaps in walls, floors, and foundations contribute to their presence. An infestation generally entails more than eight rats. A nest typically accommodates five to 10 of these rodents. When you spot one, it is crucial to take action. Rats can transmit diseases through urine droppings and even cause renal failure through bites.

Poison will kill small rodents and can seem like the quick and easy way to get rid of them. But—in addition to its inhumane nature—poison has some drawbacks. First of all, if you have small children or pets in the home, setting out poison isn't the best idea, as your pets or children could ingest it.

Poisoned mice and rodents don't die instantly. Instead, it can take several days for the poison to work its way through their system. In the meantime, there's a chance that a predator, such as a cat, fox, or other mammal, will eat the poisoned rodent and become poisoned themselves.
