CAT Contracting, Inc. is a national restoration company which operates two divisions. The residential catastrophe division facilitates the sales and restoration processes for homeowners after catastrophic storm events. The Commercial Division services large low slope membrane systems including but not limited to TPO, EPDM, Spray Foam, PVC, Metal and Hydro-Stop

"The original project manager was good. He installed the roof, had a few hiccups, but I was satisfied until 1 1/2 years later when I got 4 leaks. Additionally, some aluminium was supposed to be installed and it still hasn't been installed. I have been calling since March 2019 and still no one has come out to fix the leaks. I only have a couple of months left until warranty expires which I'm figuring they are waiting for. I've called & asked the owner Matt to call me, b ut 5 days later and still no call. A roofer is only as good as his repairs. My advise is don't use Cat. They have no one within 50 miles to repair my roof. I'm very disappointed as I first thought they had done a good job. I had seen reviews where the owner was very responsive, but not to me."

"Had siding done on my home and there had to be a different problem almost every step in the project head by Dean H - First after picking our siding wasn’t notified that the type of siding wasn’t Available on the day of projected work to start - so we where forced to pick different siding in a selection of maybe only 5 choices much different from the original 50 or so previous shown - in addition are start date was pushed back serval months - a window was also to be put in and no measurements where made - but again this was pushed back also and was giving only one choice of window - When the project was started mid way through Dean tryed to shake me down for additional money saying there wasn’t enough material and I requested only half the house to be done , - I asked him what kind of customer gets only have of a house sided !!??? I reminded him there was a contract sign for the whole house . And lo and behold there was plenty of material already present on the property - and then some . Dean simple wanted to rip me off . After it was done I never want to deal with Dean again - he wanted cash because he said he gets a cash commission? I think he was skimming probably being doing it for years -"

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

The price of snow blowers varies significantly and depends on the type, brand, and model you buy. Snow blowers cost anywhere from $950 to $1,500 or more. Two-stage and three-stage snow blowers are more costly for self-propelled models with additional features such as power steering and heated hand grips.

If you’re looking at how to remove snow from solar panels, heat from the sun usually melts the snow within a few days. However, snow removal might be necessary for winter solar power production in areas with deep snow during the winter. There are brushes with telescoping handles and gentle heads to brush away snow. It’s best to stay on the ground if possible and avoid using tools that could scratch the surface of the solar panels, like a snow shovel or broom.

When starting the engine, you typically leave the choke on a snowblower in the "choke" or "closed" position. After starting, let the engine run for a few minutes to warm up. Then, gradually open the choke, moving it to the "open" or "run" position, allowing more air into the engine and transitioning to a normal fuel-air mixture. The exact duration varies based on the snowblower model and ambient temperature, but as a general rule, you should open the choke once the engine has stabilized and runs smoothly, typically within a few minutes.

While most people associate defrosting icy roads with salt, you can also use sugar for a similar result. Sugar lowers the freezing point of water, melting ice in a pinch.

However, sugar doesn’t melt ice as well as salt because it doesn’t separate the water molecules as efficiently. So, if you need to quickly melt a stubborn patch of ice on your driveway or walkway, it’s best to use salt over sugar for faster results.

How much snow can a roof hold? The answer could help you to avoid roof collapse—a worst-case scenario, of course. For most roofs, you can expect it to withstand four feet of fresh snow, two feet of packed snow, or two to three feet of a mix of old and new snow. However, your roof will only be able to handle one inch of ice. The actual weight capacity of your roof may vary, so check with whoever built it for exact details.
