Universal Windows Direct of Chicago

I would and will advise everyone I come in contact with to stay away from this company. I signed a contract to purchase windows with them that would have replaced all the windows in my house. 5 days later I had a terrible family situation that is going to cost me who knows how much money over the next few months. In addition to calling off work, canceling vacations, etc., I call to cancel this window project. It has been an unprofessional nightmare since then. I have had to request the project be canceled 7 times and I still have not received confirmation. Rather than simply respecting my request initially and letting me move on with what I need to do for my family, this guy Jason keeps calling and texting me asking me to extend the project and purchase fewer windows. I have emailed and requested to talk to senior management and I have heard nothing back from them either. This company has done no work, ordered no materials and they have not even been out to confirm measurements. My initial thought was that I would try to resolve my family situation and then come back and restart the project after I got my arms around the costs and logistics for my family. Universal was not the best, but they were close enough to the best and the salesman Josh was an awesome guy. Josh is who I feel sorry for because Jason being tone deaf and this company lack of ability to police Jason just killed a $29K sale for Josh. I am so irritated that I am even still dealing with this that I am complaining everywhere that has an inbox. In addition to being a leader at one of the biggest tech firms in the world, I am a real estate broker in Chicago so Jason could not have picked a worse person to do this with other than maybe an attorney. I sit on several boards for Real Estate start-ups and associations in Chicago and I have already sent them an email about this experience. I sit on the board of my own homeowner association for goodness sake. There are 20+ homes on my block alone. That email has already gone out as well and I am just getting started. This is an indication of how this company will handle issues in the future and I suggest anyone considering doing work to their home avoid Universal Windows Direct at all costs. It is not worth the headache if something needs to change in your project.

From the Salesman through to the installers this project went without one hitch!! I would recommend this company to anyone. I am so immensely impressed with the professionalism, knowledge, and product!! Now we are enjoying the inside of our home while the outside stays outside!!

We are happy that Universal Windows Direct did our project to replace the old windows. They did a great job, they were very professional , worked very clean. We highly recommend them.

It was very professional the installer answered all my questions as his was removing the windows and showing were damage was on the old windows and how much more efficient the new would be . Ià ¢à  à  m very please with my new windows I would recommend them

We had a total of 7 windows plus a huge bay window replaced. The entire crew was professional, efficient and knew exactly what they were doing. They completely redid the whole framing for the bay window, including all the construction on the outside of the house. When it was completed, not only did it look like it was there the whole time, but even matched the shingles on top of the frame to match my house. They answered every question and made sure I was satisfied before they left. HIghly recommend!

The crew that came out were very professional, provided quality work, worked not only quickly installing 10 windows., but weâ re neat and made sure all work areas were cleaned up and all trash taken away. I am really pleased with Universal Windows I would highly recommend them.

They were efficient and offered me great options for my budget and upgrading. I cannot express how my view through these windows will change. Very professional.
