They came in and treated that spot that we had in our attic for mold remediation. They were fantastic!

This company sprays mold with their own solution, however they do not remove or encapsulate it. Even if the mold is dead, it can still get in the air and effect people with allergies. Billing was responsive, yet pushy to get their final payment even though I was still trying to get the proper information to submit to insurance from the sales rep. After I made the final payment, the rep did not return my insurance agent's call. In regards to handling insurance, I was promised by the sales rep that he would work with insurance and this did not happen at all. He did speak to an insurance rep over the phone once, however I had to do the heavy lifting and getting the proper documentation was difficult. The company did not bring in dehumidifiers to dry out the area until an industrial environmentalist we hired told them to. Also, the remediators did not explore enough of the damage behind the walls — they are supposed to pull out one bay at a time until they do not see any more mold/damage. I ended up having to bring in another company to finish the job. Mold and water remediation is not regulated in the state of Illinois. If you are in need of a company to do this kind of work, make sure to hire a third-party for mold testing and to determine where the work needs to be done. I also learned that it is important to hire a company who is DKI certified.

"Hello, we are a locally operated company and take great pride in our business practices and relationship with current and potential clients. That said, we feel it's important to address the issues outlined with complete transparency, as what you described is the opposite of what our team encountered with this particular project. First, we do & did remove the mold that we were able to by removing the affected drywall on the interior of the home. We did speak with the owner about encapsulating. We waited to hear back to see if this is something they wanted us to do and never heard back on which direction they wanted to go. We also informed them of dead mold getting in the air and educated on the next option to cover it up with an encapsulation of exterior gypsum board. As for the billing comment, it is in our proposal after our work is completed to receive final payment. In regards to working with the insurance agent, our sales representative did return the insurance companies call and left the third person handling the claim a message to get any info they needed to them. We spoke to a minimum of 3 different people multiple times from the insurance company, providing documentation, pictures, updated proposal, etc. In addition, we tested the area, and the customer had an industrial hygienist come out and we performed additional work, additional dehumidifiers/equipment, ( that was not in our original scope of work at no charge) based on what the hygienist said needed to be done. We performed everything per our conversation with him, besides the encapsulation, because that was going to be an additional cost, which we informed the customer about. We were very honest and straight forward from the start on what we were doing and there could be additional issues, which there were that was unable to be seen until the walls were opened. Our company is IICRC Certified which is one of the highest certification you can get in our field of work."

Everything went great. I called and they were able to schedule someone to come out that same day. Adam showed up right on time, and was very knowledgeable about everything. The problem was very minor, so he gave me some steps I could do to clean things up myself, without using their remediation services. I really appreciated the honesty and tips. They seem like a great company, and if we ever have any bigger needs in the future I'd hire them in a heartbeat.

Michael went above and beyond helping me wrap my arms around a mold issue at a home we are considering purchasing. The crew arrived as scheduled for both the estimate and performance of the work. They were meticulous in protecting the carpeting the surrounding area and sealed the offending area off sercurely. Their estimate was thorough and professional in its scope, and the work was consistent with the estimate. This was not an inexpensive proposition, but I am convinced it was of good value for the work done.

Ed Fox of Mold Solutions was PHENOMENAL! I had several Angie's List vendors come out to estimate/bid on the work. Ed's inspection was so above and beyond any of the other vendors, that I was completely blown away. He was patient with all my questions, used various techniques to see where there was moisture in the walls, made recommendations for things that we needed and even things that we did NOT need. Before he even showed me the video of how their product works, I was convinced this was the company I wanted to do business with. His estimate for the work was swift (same day) and even before the other vendor estimates arrived, I agreed to the work with them. This is a HUGE deal for me, because I am a big time comparison/bargain shopper and wait for all estimates before I make a decision. They were always super professional and pleasant to work with. They accommodated my schedule changes and showed up on time on the day of my appointment. The work done far exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend that you use Mold Solutions for any remediation work that you need. The places where there was mold, now look brand new!

During my home inspection the inspector saw possible mold in the attic and strongly suggested I get a mold inspection. Mold Solutions was able to schedule me for an 8am appointment two days later and walked me through several options. When it came time to schedule the work they again accommodated my schedule and were early both days.

It could not have gone any better. Our circumstances were challenging for personal reasons. All of the people we dealt with at Mold Solutions were professional and kind. They could not have been more responsive and accommodating to our needs. When you think of their price, you have to think of the value that they bring to a situation like this. Perhaps you could find a cheaper price. But that would be a big mistake in my opinion. Also, we had a large attic, which made it more costly for us than perhaps for others. Our backs were against the wall and they really delivered in an incredible and amazing way. Thank you very much to all the people at Mold Solutions!

I can't say enough about Ed Maholovich and Mold Solutions! It is very scary to find mold in your home and I absolutely feel this company was outstanding from start to finish. Ed very calmly and thoroughly explained "mold" and different types, causes etc. Talked me through what he found in the attic,- never any "scare" tactics etc. Explained options, time frames and overall service after documenting the extent of the mold and size of the attic. Also explained how weather impacts mold and attic spaces which I found helpful with the wacky weather Chicago is having this year. He also was able to put my mind at ease by giving me not only a rough estimate of mold remediation costs but also a "ballpark" cost for the improvements needed to ventilate the attic. This set my mind at ease as I had no idea how costly all this work would be. Ed was confident that my problem came from too high of humidity in the home and less than adequate ventilation. During attic inspection Ed was able to list for me the possible attic and humidifier improvements to help minimize this happening again and also helped me decide the approach I wanted to use. My husband and I decided on a multi-staged process to get rid of the mold (remediation), and sanitizing for preventative. The sanitizing required correction of attic ventilation issues to insure the mold does not reoccur so Mold Solutions was also able to refer me to a company to get an attic fan and new soffit vents installed. (That company, also reviewed on AL was excellent also!) I received the Mold Solutions Proposal that day via email and then called to schedule work. Mold Solutions crew arrived promptly each time and explained the process, noises, smells etc. Crew was professional and left without a trace they had been in my home. I opted to both remediate and sanitize the attic with a preventative which comes with a 10 Year product Warranty. The attic roof literally looks brand new and there is no trace mold has ever been a problem in the attic!

This company is fantastic. In the initial consultation, they determined the root of the problem as a lack of proper ventilation in our attic. They offered us several options for the mold remediation, but actually suggested the least expensive option, and told us to take the difference and apply it to getting the ventilation issue fixed. I really appreciate a company that doesn't push the most expensive option just because it will bring them more money. I felt they really cared about our dilemma and were happy to help us solve the problem in the most cost-efficient way. The gentlemen who came to actually do the work, were very considerate of our home and took their shoes off every time they came back from a trip out to their vehicle. They were good at informing us about what to expect from the treatment, and they were done within the timeframe given to us at the time of scheduling. I had to sneak a peek of the attic when we got back home and the attic was mold-free already. I would definitely recommend this company!

Since it was below freezing when Adam did the inspection we had to wait until the weather was consistently above 32 degrees to begin the work. I scheduled the first of two procedures to be completed on March 15th to sanitize the entire attic and March 22nd to apply antimicrobial preventive. Mold Solution's crew arrived on time both days and were very professional. Since i corrected all of the ventilation issues that caused the initial problem prior to Mold Solutions beginning their remediation, they gave me a 10 year Limited Warranty

The entire process went very smoothly from start to finish. I found the company to be very professional from setting up the appointment to having Charles come out to the site to inspect the attic. Luckily, there was no mold present in the attic to remedy. Overall very happy with the price paid for inspection and felt very comfortable to having them perform the work if there had been an issue. Received a half off discount by referring Angie's list.
