"ROOFTOP DESIGN IS A HORRIBLE SCAM I would be remiss not to take the time to warn others. ROOFTOP DESIGN came as a third option for roofing. However, the initial representative ED form ROOFTOP DESIGN was very professional and thorough. The problem is, he represented a bunch of shysters. Ed’s first quote to was $35,000. After approximately three days of conversation and negotiations we were at $17,000.00 for the exact same product that they tried to sale for $35,000. Salesmen Ed was no-longer reaching out to me. Someone by the name of John called me and asked, what is it that they can do to make this deal happen. We settled at $16,500.00. Once again, $16,500 for everything discussed for the original $35,000 including a 50-year warranty that is transferable to a buyer as a good selling point. I learned through John that they fired Ed for giving customers too good of deals. I also learned through John that this company has a starting bidding price and a bottom bidding price. Ed would give the bottom price too quickly. So, they fired him. (Although John’s price was better than Ed’s). Once the job started, I received a text from the owner Yanni Avramidis. He stated that there was a third layer of roofing. He also stated that it would not be a problem and that it would take a little longer. IF THERE WAS GOING TO BE ANY ADDITIONAL CHARGES, NOW WOULD BE THE TIME TO MENTION IT. Approximately two days after the completion of the job. I had a contractor over named B. B. was there to replace the soffit beneath the location where the new roof was installed. This is when I learned and saw with my own two eyes that there was rotted or no plywood at all supporting my brand-new shingles. Mind you: per our contract, there will be an extra charge for plywood beyond the first ten free sheets. This company put my expensive shingles on top of rotted wood or no wood at all. I must admit, I was upset. However, I was cool calm and collected when I reached out to the owner Yanni Avramidis. I sent him the pictures of my findings. His explanation was that I had a 50-year warranty. My point to the owner was, if I wasn’t trying to replace my soffit it might have been months or years before this was discovered. I also said, what about the elderly man or woman that doesn’t have the ambition to check your work??? The owner of ROOFTOP DESIGN became very irate. He said, “I am from Baltimore, haven’t you heard about people from Baltimore. I will beat your a**. You are going to pay me an additional $2,800.00 for the third layer of roofing and planks/ plywood.” Since I have yet to see any new plywood, I am being charged $3,000.00 per layer of roofing to be removed. I received paperwork from ROOFTOP DESIGN, the paperwork stated that my warranty was only good for as long as I owned the property. Non-transferable: Of course, I didn’t sign it. My point is, there are people being taken advantage of everyday by bullies like ROOFTOP DESIGN."

"They did an excellent job and were very quick once the project began from start to finish. They also did a great job cleaning up once everything was done. Thanks to Josh for working with my insurance to get the extra items needed from the storm damage like my siding that they only wanted to repair. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a roofer or siding company."

Corwin Drywall Contracting LLC is a family owned contractor company in Naperville, Illinois specializing in drywall installation, finish and repair; basement build out and remodeling; room additions and remodels; acoustical ceiling installations and repair; mold and water damage repair and clean up services. We have over 30 years of experience in the residential and commercial industries. We aim to leave our clients satisfied with our quality and reliable work. This promise to quality work is our driving mission.

"I can't stress those reading this enough to never use Corwin for any type of work. My experience from them the past few weeks has been nothing short of the worst customer service of any sort I have ever experience. They were subcontracted by my contractor to do the framing and drywall for a basement job. The first 3 weeks and basically 90% of the work had been ok. The last 4 weeks have been nothing short of miserable. There was one area or ceiling left to finish which I paid the day they were allegedly done. That was a terrible move on my part because they were not done at all and left the ceiling an unfinished mess. This isn't even getting into the $6000 in overages they charged me for work that was agreed upon before the job even started. Yes, there was some additional work that was requested as the job progressed. But when I saw the newly updated quote with an additional $6k, I was shocked. But after some discussion and a few hundred dollars knocked off, I still paid them their balance only to be sitting here weeks later with an unfinished portion of ceiling and a newly noticed not plum window opening that Corwin tried to say they were not at fault then tried to blame their laborers. Now fast forward to late last week when I spoke to the owner who agreed to pay me back a sum of money that we agreed upon due to the issues at hand. I then get an email telling me their lawyer will reach out to me. What an absolute joke of a company and I will gladly take this to court. DO NOT USE CORWIN. Thank you for reading and I would be happy to speak with anyone who wants clarification."

Insulation services FAQs

When choosing a professional insulation installer, consider asking these questions to determine the best fit.

  • Will you address air leaks in my house?

  • Can you provide an R-value (heat resistance) fact sheet?

  • What kind of insulation will work best for my home?

  • How do you handle signs of a water leak?

  • Are you licensed and insured?

  • Can you provide customer references?

The best type of insulation for your home depends on what you need, so the answer will depend on your specific situation. If you’re building a house, structural panels are easy to install during the building process in addition to being the most energy efficient type. If you live in a warm climate, reflective insulation may benefit you more as it costs less than other insulation types. And for standard attics, loose-fill, spray foam, or blown-in insulation work well.

If you plan to heat or cool your garage, you’ll need to insulate the garage ceiling. Insulating your garage ceiling will make your garage much more energy efficient and save on heating and cooling costs. Not only does insulation make your garage more energy efficient, it helps reduce noise and can extend the life of your garage roof. You can use fiberglass, cellulose, mineral wool, or spray foam insulation for this project.

In some cases, you may not have enough insulation to properly regulate your home’s temperature. Watch for a few signs your home needs more insulation, such as:

  • High heating and cooling bills

  • Uncomfortable room temperatures

  • Ice dams on the edge of your roof

  • Roof leaks

  • Cold floors and walls

  • Freezing pipes

  • Temperature fluctuations

  • Visibly low insulation

  • Noise problems

  • Pest problems

On average, insulating an attic costs about $2,500, ranging from $1,500 to $3,500, depending on the insulation type, amount, and your attic’s accessibility. Additional cost factors include sealing air leaks, removal or replacement of insulation, and inspections. Types of insulation include:

  • Blown-in: $1–$4 per square foot

  • Spray foam: $2–$5 per square foot

  • Batt: $2–$4 per square foot

  • Structural insulated panels: $4–$7 per square foot

  • Loose-fill: $2–$5 per square foot

  • Reflective: $0.50–$1.50 per square foot
