"Our condo building decided to have Bella Custom Cleaning out to clean our air duct vents today. The two young gentlemen who came to do our clean were respectful of my property and extremely professional. I wish I would have gotten their names, they were great!! We had a few quotes and this company had competitive pricing and great reviews, so we decided to go for it. Very happy we did, we will be using Bella Custom Cleaning again! Pricing shown is for one unit, approx. 1,000 sq ft., 12 vents."

House Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, many professionals offer ultrasonic cleaning for thorough, chemical-free results.

Although you can use bleach to clean many surfaces in your home, using it on walls can permanently damage the color or even remove paint and expose the paint or bare walls underneath. You’re better off using a light hand, some water, and a small amount of liquid dish soap or vinegar to clean walls with flat paint. If you have mold growth on your walls with flat paint, then a professional cleaner may use bleach, but you’ll almost certainly have to repaint your walls afterward.

The best way to clean kitchen cabinets is to use a soft cloth soaked in warm water and mild dish soap. For areas that require a stronger solution, a mixture of baking soda and vinegar is the best choice. If your cabinets are made of sealed hardwood, you can deep clean them using a steam cleaner, but other cabinet materials are exempt from this type of cleaning.

If you don’t want to use dishwasher pods, you can use liquid or powder dishwasher detergent or dishwasher tablets. Alternatively, you can make a DIY dish detergent by putting two or three drops of liquid dishwashing soap in the dispenser and filling the rest with baking soda. You should never use laundry detergent, household all-purpose cleaners, or a full dispenser of liquid dish detergent.

Most DIY floor cleaners don’t require rinsing, but you’ll want to make sure you don’t add too much dish soap or oil to the cleaner to avoid having to rinse it after cleaning. For non-wood floors, mix 8 parts warm water, 1 part vinegar, and 1 part baking soda with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, use olive oil in that same mixture instead of the vinegar. You can let these solutions air-dry after cleaning your floors with them, although you should manually dry your floors if they aren’t waterproof.
