Small jobs welcome

"Gordon and his son did the stucco around our 100+ year old house, they did a wonderful job. Besides the impressive and quality work, the communication was great, his response time was fast, they were always on time, fair pricing, and never left a mess. I would highly recommend them to anyone and would absolutely hire them again. Our old house looks new again."

Small jobs welcome

"This was by far the easiest transaction on a project yet! Was on time for a free estimate, great value. Came and fixed it when he said he would. The estimate he gave was exactly what I paid. He did an amazing job on my ceiling. Oh yea! I had a leak from un upstairs shower in a 100 yr old queen Victorian home. After his plaster repair. It looks like nothing ever happened to it. Thank you! ."

"I have a small crack in my hybrid stucco.  I was nervous about it so I
called Aspire.  Peter came out that same day and rather than making up
some work for himself, he said not to worry about it, "don't waste time
or money." I thought that was so honorable of him.  I really appreciated
that honesty.  I would definitely have him back out to do work because I
really trust him.

Stucco questions, answered by experts

You should aim to let stucco dry for at least 48 hours before it rains. While misting new stucco and keeping it moderately moist is important for strength and longevity, uncontrolled exposure to rain can lead to weak stucco that doesn’t bond properly. Rain can also affect the stucco finish and the color unevenly, leaving you with less appealing siding.

To maintain stucco, inspect it annually for cracks and clean the surface with a mild detergent. Seal any cracks promptly to prevent water infiltration, and reseal or repaint as needed to preserve its appearance.

Choosing between traditional and synthetic stucco depends on your specific needs, budget, and climate. Both options are durable, but synthetic stucco includes an extra layer that makes it more resistant to cracking and a better choice for climates with extreme weather. In hot, dry climates with less rainfall, traditional stucco is a suitable and more affordable option that is less likely to trap moisture. Synthetic stucco also offers more color options and requires less maintenance.

The best way to assess that your stucco needs repair is to inspect it, both visually and physically. If you notice cracks, chips, or staining, that’s a good indication that your stucco could use some TLC by a professional. Additionally, if you touch an area that feels soft and has a little “give,” you should consider repairing it as soon as possible to avoid further damage, both to additional stucco spots and to your home’s structure.

A standard drill will work just fine if you’re drilling small holes, and only a few of them. But anything with a diameter larger than 3/8 inch is best done with a hammer drill, since it is stronger, faster, and also makes your drill bits last longer. While you don’t absolutely need a hammer drill for stucco, it is a worthy investment if you think you might drill more holes down the road.
