"As my parents have gotten older, I've been helping them stay on top of home maintenance that is not safe for them to do anymore. Cleaning gutters was one of those jobs , so I hired AST. The team was punctual, professional and treated my parents home with great care. They thoroughly cleaned the gutters and downspouts, cleared all the debris and made sure everything was draining properly."

"Jordan and Baker Construction Co were recommended to me by two neighbors on my same cul-de-sac who had their gutters replaced by them. Jordan was very prompt in responding to the questions I had, having Zach come out to do measurements and show me gutter color samples, and then getting me a quote. The work was completed promptly and the cleanup was thorough. I strongly recommend their services. :-)"

"The home genius team was very helpful. They put my roof on a while ago and I had a leak recently that they came and inspected. We determined that my box gutters needed fixed and I had them do the job. Walter the project manager was very helpful coordinating the work and the work lance did an amazing job repairing the box gutters."

"Great product and service. Due to the unique nature of our copper gutters, the gutter guards required some special parts and took a few days longer than anticipated. These guys were very honest and explained the issue and kept their word. Due to the esthetic nature of our gutters, they went out of their way to make sure the gutter guard color matched with the copper and the color of the eves of our home. Communication was great...which can be rare with contractors. The job was on our lake house on Lake Erie and we are not there full-time. Nevertheless, they didn't make me pay a cent until I personally inspected the job which was a week or so after they finished. Impressive, these days. I hope not to contact All American Gutter Protection for any warranty issues but if I need to, I am confident they will stand by their work. Thank You!!"

"10 Stars for Ned Stevens gutter cleaning!! I had small trees growing in my gutters and the front gutter was coming loose. They cleaned the gutters, fixed the gutter where it was loose and they bagged all the trash up. They did not charge extra for the loose gutter either. Nice and neat and EXCELLENT service!! So happy I found you guys!! Kathy from Dallas"

"Rob did a great job for the repair that needed done. It was a small job and other handymen/women were not even going to look at the project. He was able to fix the issue, and the repair is great. For future repairs i will call on Rob."

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Unless you've chosen to install underground downspouts, your gutter downspouts shouldn't touch the ground. If they come into contact with the soil or pavement next to your home, rainwater can back up into them during a storm, preventing them from doing their job effectively. Instead, aim to have your downspouts end about 12 inches from the ground.

Yes, many homeowners find that seamless gutters are worth the investment. Although they have a higher upfront cost than standard gutters—an average of $2,700 compared to $2,000—their benefits often outweigh the price difference. Seamless gutters last longer, require less maintenance, and are less prone to clogs and leaks due to having fewer seams. In contrast, standard gutters typically have seams every 10 feet, which can leak and require new sealant every one to five years. Additionally, seamless gutters are considered more aesthetically pleasing, come in a variety of colors to match your home, and can improve your home's curb appeal and potential value.

When you need to repair your galvanized gutters from leaks and caulk isn’t doing the job, you can solder your gutters with a roofer’s soldering iron. First, you’ll need to clean your gutters thoroughly with a wire brush and remove rust and oxidized paint. Next, you’ll make weld points on the gutter and solder over the connection until it’s completely smooth. You can also hire a roofing company near you to tackle this project.

The average cost to install or replace gutters is around $2,000, with typical project costs ranging from $900 to $7,000. Most companies charge between $4 and $30 per linear foot. The total price depends on several factors, including the size of your home, the complexity of its footprint, the gutter material (e.g., vinyl, metal), and the gutter style (e.g., half-round, custom-built). Additional elements like downspouts, corners, and optional add-ons like gutter guards can also increase the price. The condition of your roof is another consideration, as new gutters cannot be installed on a rotting or sloping roof. While it can be an expensive upfront cost, new gutters are a worthwhile, long-lasting investment for protecting your home's exterior. You can save up to half on labor costs by installing them yourself.

There are a handful of things you can look for to determine if you need to pay for gutter repairs, including the following:

  • Water leaking from the underside of your gutters during rainfall

  • Visible gaps between your gutters and your roof

  • Frequent issues with gutters overflowing or holding standing water

  • Gutters that sag or pull away from the house

  • Water damage to soffits, fascia boards, or other building materials

  • Mold growth on your exterior walls

  • Soil erosion underneath your roof overhang

  • Foundation leaks or inward bowing of foundation walls
