"Excellent professional work and managed to use existing structures to cut costs. Carpentry work was master level and cleaned up very well and communication was first rate. In general lumber costs are high but the finished deck they did for my back deck is well worth the investment and will be enjoyed for years to come!"

"I needed a small repair to the handicapped ramp that is attached to my deck. Henry, of HP Carpentry worked with me to replace the boards on an “as needed” basis, since a whole tear-down was not in my budget. I truly appreciate his willingness to do this. The work was completed in one day and I couldn’t be more pleased."

"Got a quote for the job I'd described, but about 40% more than my other. But the bigger issue was the carpenter did not inform me my deck was out-of-code or that this was a permit job. Once someone else shared those facts -- and I confirmed them -- I hired someone else. I believe Belmont Builders would have subcontracted the job, too, though this was not stated."

"Zach and his crew were awesome. They designed closet space that perfectly fit my needs and the installation was quick and easy. Very cost effective as well - I got several quotes and they were by far the most competitive. They understood the requirements of the condo association and made it a super easy process. 100% will use them again."

"I hired them to install three exterior lights, by my front and back doors & garage. I had the fixtures, just needed someone to install. Good work at a reasonable price. I subsequently hired them to fix some wood rot by my garage door. Ivan cams in, cut out and replaced the bad pieces, caulked and repainted. Excellent job!"

"Thanks to you and your crew for the most amazing beautiful work we could have hoped for! Our very old garage needed repairs everywhere and we wanted siding. Your team is so talented and professional, every detail was covered. Also very respectful of our property, leaving our yard and driveway clean throughout the day and at the end of the work day. Your dedicated team was dependable from start to finish. We thank you as well for taking on the extra repair work. We are so pleased, the garage looks wonderful! Thanks for everything!"

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Framing most homes takes anywhere between five and eight weeks to complete. You’ll need to account for inclement weather conditions, material shipment times, the number of crew members, and the weight of your materials. If the weather is too hot, wet, or cold for the installation, this process could take closer to eight weeks.

Yes, walls on the top floor can be load-bearing if stacked on the floor’s foundation.

Accurate measurements, sturdy materials, and seamless integration with other structures.

The cost to frame a 2,000-square-foot house can fall anywhere between $14,000 and $32,000. This price can increase or decrease depending on what type of framing you choose, the quality of the materials, the project's complexity, and whether you decide to hire a professional to do the job.

Modern brick houses are really stick-built homes with a brick facade for aesthetic purposes only, so most have framing. With genuine brick construction, most homeowners install furring strips over the interior of the brick and then install drywall over those strips to cover the brick wall, so they don’t have traditional framing.
