"Eduardo and his team did a perfect job! I wanted a fully tiled bathroom with a random flower pattern in the shower. The pattern is beautiful. It is exactly what I wanted."

"Mohammed did more than an excellent job on a difficult backsplash installation. He took his to make several intricate cuts to ensure the backsplash was even against an uneven wall. He gave us his professional advice on various aspects and product selections. He was on time and personable. I would definitely recommend and hire him again"

"Efrain is a perfect example of how home improvement projects should go. Professional, knowledgeable, highly-skilled, works clean, and on-timeâ and, even with all that, heâ s reasonably priced. This was a fairly complicated job with many cuts and a less-than-even surface. The end result is beautiful. In fact, his leveling of the floor was so impeccable as to eliminate the need for transition strips between tile and wood. Bonus: Efrain was the only installer who even bothered to investigate what was under the existing floor before giving a quote. (Surprise, it was another layer of ceramic tile with concrete under that.) Highly recommended and will use for future projects."

"Edward was very efficient, and honest with what I needed done. He responded quickly with my questions and kept an open line of communication. We were happy with his work that we asked for his bi-weekly service of maintaining our lawn care. We already have more work around the house that we want him to fix. Edward is an individual of all trades, very efficient and honest. We are extremely happy to have found a person like Edward."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Flooring transition strips can be secured to the subfloor using glue, nails, or screws. For a more secure installation, especially in high-traffic areas, using screws or nails is recommended as it reduces the risk of slippage. However, if aesthetic appeal is a priority, glue provides a cleaner, more seamless finish without any visible holes or screw heads.

You can often find many types of peel and stick tile at big-box home improvement stores. Other places to shop for this type of material include home decor websites, other types of big-box stores, and even directly from the manufacturer. It’s a good idea to order a tile sample first to see how you like the look and feel before installing it.

Common problems include cracks, loose tiles, and grout discoloration. Proper maintenance prevents many issues.

No, you don’t technically need a cement backer board for a wall tiling project, but not using it risks disastrous moisture damage. Cement is naturally water-resistant, whereas drywall soaks it in, which can lead to warping or mold growth. Always use a backer board treated with a waterproof membrane for bathrooms and other chronically damp areas to ensure complete tile shower waterproofing.

Yes, you can tile a shower as a DIY project, and you can save hundreds of dollars in labor costs by doing so. However, you’ll need to rent or buy quite a few tools and supplies for the job, including a saw, tile nippers, and a new shower pan. In terms of the work itself, you should be prepared to tackle a variety of different tasks, including measuring and ordering materials, removing old tile, waterproofing the wall, adding rows of tile, grouting, and more.
