"Maurizio explained the entire job including pricing, and timeline. He gave us options on how we wanted our new backslash to look. Tony and Sal are true artists when it came to the install. They showed up on time, worked hard, and actually enjoyed their work. The job was finished on time, and on budget. I would highly recommend this company for any tile work that you may need."

"The team was very responsive in assisting the removal of a silver maple in my back yard. Came out and quoted the opportunity within a couple days of engaging them on the Home Advisor platform. After moving forward with the bid, the continued to provide communication even through a couple reschedules due to weather. The completion of the project was smooth and they left the back yard in great shape. Iâ d recommend All Service Calls to my friends and family members."

"Mohammed did more than an excellent job on a difficult backsplash installation. He took his to make several intricate cuts to ensure the backsplash was even against an uneven wall. "Efrain is a perfect example of how home improvement projects should go. Professional, knowledgeable, highly-skilled, works clean, and on-timeâ and, even with all that, heâ s reasonably priced. This was a fairly complicated job with many cuts and a less-than-even surface. The end result is beautiful. In fact, his leveling of the floor was so impeccable as to eliminate the need for transition strips between tile and wood. Bonus: Efrain was the only installer who even bothered to investigate what was under the existing floor before giving a quote. (Surprise, it was another layer of ceramic tile with concrete under that.) Highly recommended and will use for future projects."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

One major drawback of a concrete tile roof is that the material is heavier than most other roofing materials, so there’s a good chance you’ll need structural reinforcements for your home before you can install the roofing material. Concrete tile roofs are also twice as expensive as asphalt shingle roofs, so even though they last much longer, you’ll see higher up-front costs and lower overall value from concrete roof tiles.

When considering the types of grout for your project, unsanded grout is the best choice for penny tile. Unsanded grout can fit better into narrow spaces, like those between the small penny tiles, and it’s easier to smooth out for a seamless finish. However, if you’re unsure, check with a tile installation pro to determine which grout is best for your specific project.

Installing kitchen countertop tiles on a mold and moisture-resistant cement backer board is one of the best options. When fitted correctly on top of a plywood base, it’s stable and long-lasting. Old-fashioned cement board is economical, cuts neatly and easily with a circular or jigsaw, and screws into plywood without any difficulty.

The grout shade you choose comes down to personal taste and preference. A darker grout will give you a more dramatic and noticeable contrast with the tile around it; however, lighter grout helps create a more uniform look when blending the colors together. Additionally, a darker grout combined with a patterned tile could be overwhelming to the eye, while lighter grout makes the pattern stand out as the main focus.

Porcelain and ceramic tiles are made from clay, but porcelain tiles are fired in a kiln at a higher temperature. This makes them more durable, but it also means porcelain is more expensive than ceramic at $3 to $5 more per square foot.

Even with the higher price point, many people choose porcelain over ceramic because there are more color and design options.
