"We had an excellent experience with Avanti Stone for our backsplash installation in our kitchen and another in our bar. Tony and Sal did outstanding work from start to finish. They were professional, punctual, and clearly take a lot of pride in their craftsmanship. The installation was precise, clean, and beautifully done—the attention to detail really shows. Tony and Sal took the time to make sure everything was perfectly aligned. Communication throughout the process was easy and straightforward, and the end result exceeded our expectations. We couldn’t be happier with how the backsplash turned out and would absolutely recommend Avanti Stone, especially Tony and Sal, to anyone looking for high-quality stone work."

"The team was very responsive in assisting the removal of a silver maple in my back yard. Came out and quoted the opportunity within a couple days of engaging them on the Home Advisor platform. After moving forward with the bid, the continued to provide communication even through a couple reschedules due to weather. The completion of the project was smooth and they left the back yard in great shape. Iâ d recommend All Service Calls to my friends and family members."

"Exceptional work all the way around! They have a unique skill that was handed down from their father and we received their name from a professional referral. They prepared the site (a vintage bathroom) by making the walls level and square before installing any stone. They made sure that everything was crafted as well as possible - to exceed our expectations and their own. They had our best interests at heart.
Our job included large slate tiles, small glass tiles and quartz slabs. 100% of the floor and walls are covered with stone and tile. Even a portion of the ceiling has tile. Every curve and corner was painstakingly executed and took extra time to get things right. The bathroom is a showplace. We are incredibly happy with their work. Excellent!

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

A ceramic tile service project can impact several systems in your Chicago home. Check for existing radiant floor heating before starting. In older homes, plumbing may need updates, and subfloors in vintage bungalows require structural assessment. The tile's thermal mass can also affect your HVAC system's heating efficiency, so proper planning with a professional is essential.

Helpful?

When hiring a pro for a ceramic tile installation in Chicago, prioritize their experience with the city's unique housing stock, like bungalows and brownstones. A qualified contractor will understand Chicago's building codes and seasonal construction challenges. Ask for references from recent local projects and review their portfolio to verify their work quality and expertise with older homes.

Helpful?

In Illinois, ceramic tile maintenance is tied to the seasons. Annually reseal grout to combat humidity fluctuations and inspect for cracks caused by winter freeze-thaw cycles. In entryways, promptly clean salt residue to prevent damage. Regular inspection of expansion joints is also critical to ensure your tile flooring withstands the demanding climate conditions found throughout IL.

Helpful?

Chicago's extreme temperature swings and 40-50 annual freeze-thaw cycles can damage improperly installed tile. High summer humidity also slows adhesive curing, while winter requires heated spaces. A ceramic tile service project needs expansion joints every 20-25 feet to manage expansion and contraction, making fall the optimal season for installation in this climate.

Helpful?

To avoid surprises with a ceramic tile service project in Chicago, confirm your project complies with local building codes and secure permits for major renovations. Plan for weather-related delays by scheduling work during stable periods and ordering 10-15% extra material. Always allow tiles to acclimate to the room's temperature for at least 24 hours before installation begins.
