"Had a great moving experience thanks to H2H movers. The office is very communicative and clear and what’s needed, and the moving crew was friendly and efficient as possible. Would recommend them to anyone moving in the Chicago area and will be using them for our next move as well!"

"All Service Moving was exceptional. Great customer service - easy to schedule and flexible. Royce & Frost did an AMAZING job moving all of our very heavy and fragile belongings. They handled all of our requests and items with care and worked both efficiently and quickly. They were super friendly and very customer service oriented. I can't thank them enough for the GREAT job they did. I highly recommend All Service Moving for anything moving and/or storage related. And DEFINITELY request Royce & Frost to handle your job. Thank You!"

"Some of the best movers I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I had called around in a panic, and they were the only ones that were able to come out with such short notice. The move was done the same day, without any problems. They moved a 4 bedroom home like it was nothing. Highly recommended."

"The guys were very nice and accommodating. They were efficient and very professional. Aside from a few nicks on one piece of furniture we were moved without incident. Moving is hard enough but Good Move Movers made the furniture relocation painless."

"I've moved before for work and other reasons. Usually moving companies give you estimates that end up being twice as much by the end of the service. This company was very close to their initial estimate when work was done. They were very careful, respectful of our house, and on-time. It went very smoothly and delivered everything on-time. There were a couple of tight turns on the stair cases which I don't know how they did but I'm very happy with their service. I've referred them to a couple of my friends already."

Moving questions, answered by experts

Yes, you need insurance for a moving pod. Moving insurance is worth the cost because it can help pay to replace any damaged or destroyed items during the move. Without insurance, you’d be on the hook to pay for those replacements entirely out of pocket.

To prepare furniture for moving, detach furniture legs if possible. If the legs must stay on, wrap them with foam wrap or taped blankets to help prevent damage. You can also buy dedicated moving “socks” for furniture legs.

Using moving pods is generally cheaper than hiring a full-service moving company, primarily because you handle the packing and loading yourself, which eliminates labor costs. The cost savings are most significant for long-distance or cross-country moves; for local moves, hiring a moving company might be the more economical option. Renting and shipping moving pods can cost between $2,000 and $5,000, depending on factors like distance, the number of containers, and the weight of your items. Some services also charge a monthly rental fee of $75 to $200. In comparison, hiring a professional moving company for a long-distance move typically costs between $2,700 and $10,000.

If you’re moving locally, pack up your condiments in a cooler and move them in your car or moving truck so you can put them in the fridge as soon as you arrive at your new place. For long-distance moves, use up or empty out all opened condiments or give them to your neighbors. Pack unopened condiments in a box or give them away if you don’t want to move them.

To save your flooring’s finish and to protect yourself from injury, use furniture sliders to move your couch from room to room on the same house level. Double-check that entryways are large enough to pass through. If you need to move a couch up or down stairs, hire a team of movers to help you with this task to avoid damaging your walls or staircase.
