"Very pleased with the work. Had a fan installed and the blades were missing. He continued working while I ran to store and pick them up and waited for me to get back. Professional, knowledgeable and friendly. My work was not urgent but he had time and I was lucky to have an appointment within an hour. Will definitely use them again."

"Kevin and Brad did an amazing job! They replaced the subfloor that had been damaged by a leak from my toilet, installed new flooring, and put in a new toilet, making the bathroom look brand new. They showed up on time, stayed until the job was completely finished, and made sure everything was cleaned up before they left. Super friendly, professional, and hardworking. I highly recommend them!"

Small jobs welcome

"Excellent experience. Due to a poor installation 23 years ago, water had cascaded through the main panel causing occasional power outages and growing worse. He came within an hour of calling and showed me the issues in detail and explained the danger. I agreed - the panel would need to be replaced. Like most trades, he is very busy - but, he was able to shift work around and did the job today. Came on time, did beautiful work, very reasonable and we're extremely happy with the job. There are a few issues (from the original installation) and we'll be working with Mike again as soon as he's free. I would put a 6 on if I could! Just a tremendous job and experience!"

"I hired ABP electric to do an electrical job at my home in Barrington. Brett was on vacation who is the owner of ABP electric and he sent 3 men to do the job they were professional and knew EXACTLY what to do with the wiring. I would definitely recommend this company for any electrical issues you have in your home. Excellent service and knowledgeable in what had to be done. 5 Stars!!"

Exhaust Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

When you take a hot shower or bath, the steam dissipates into the air and increases the temperature of your bathroom. This can make the room hotter than other rooms in your home, especially if it’s an upper floor that gets a lot of sun. On top of that, the high humidity in your bathroom can make it feel hotter than it actually is.

Costs depend on fan type, labor rates, and necessary ductwork modifications.

Basic tasks like replacing filters can be done by DIYers, but skilled technicians should perform full system inspections to ensure complete efficiency.

The square footage of your room will dictate the correct ceiling fan blade size. For example:

  • Rooms smaller than 75 square feet require a fan that is 29 to 36 inches.

  • Rooms up to 175 square feet require 42- to 48-inch fans.

  • Rooms up to 350 square feet require 52- to 56-inch fans.

  • Expansive spaces over 350 square feet need a fan larger than 60 inches.

Mold thrives in wet and humid conditions, and the bathroom can often be an ideal place for it to grow. If you are worried about mold, it's a good idea to hire a local mold inspector to inspect your bathroom.

How you handle the mold depends on the extent of the issue. If it's on the caulk or other surface, a deep cleaning with mold-killing products such as vinegar or bleach may be sufficient. For a large infestation, you'll most likely need professional mold remediation.
