"Kevin and Brad did an amazing job! They replaced the subfloor that had been damaged by a leak from my toilet, installed new flooring, and put in a new toilet, making the bathroom look brand new. They showed up on time, stayed until the job was completely finished, and made sure everything was cleaned up before they left. Super friendly, professional, and hardworking. I highly recommend them!"

Small jobs welcome

"Michael, is a great reliable professional. He not only completed installing the 1 new dedicated outlet for the new sump pump that I needed, but also provided me with a review of electrical issues he found in my home that would need to be addressed to ensure safety. No pressure to do the work asap, but wanted to let me be aware. So when I next needed a full basement electrical renovation. He was my go to professional to design and install new electrical work. We discussed the cost estimate, and one we agreed, he stated the job & kept to the estimate yet he was flexible when i made changes. Now the electrical is up to code. My lights set up is beautiful and most of all I feel good about the entire experience. He won't disappoint you. He's that old school guy who calls it like it is, also funny?. I'd recommend him 100%."

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

A whole-house fan works best to pull chilled and dry air into your home in the early morning hours and at night. This system allows you to close your windows after turning off the fan and trap the cool air inside. You can run your whole house fan continuously for maximum ventilation and fresh air, or you can turn it on for ten minutes or so at a time to introduce cool, fresh air as needed.

Stainless steel or aluminum fans are long-lasting and have less air resistance. They are best for outdoor use as their durability helps them withstand unpleasant weather conditions. Their heavy weight requires a stronger motor, which leads to more noise than other blade materials.

Wooden fan blades are a classic, durable option. They are much quieter than metal fans and feature a wide range of styles and finishes to choose from. However, they can be damaged by moisture if not covered with plastic.

Plastic fan blades are lightweight, easy to clean, and versatile. There are various shapes and styles to choose from as plastic is easily molded and dyed. They will also deteriorate slower than other materials as they aren’t as susceptible to humidity and moisture.

There are many types of ceiling fans available, each designed for different spaces and needs. Standard ceiling fans are the most common type and work well in most rooms. Low-profile ceiling fans are better suited for rooms with low ceilings. Smart ceiling fans can be controlled with a smartphone or voice commands. For larger spaces with ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, large ceiling fans are ideal. Dual-motor fans have two motors to produce more airflow in multiple directions. You can also find energy-efficient or Energy-Star models that can be up to 60% more efficient, as well as fans with built-in lights or retractable blades.

If you think your fan needs to be oiled, the first thing that you have to do is cut the power to the fan. The best and safest way to do this is by flipping the circuit breaker that leads to that room.  Depending on the model of your fan, you may need to remove a cover. Look for a hole labeled oil. If there isn't one, check the manual or look for schematics online. Once located, use the recommended lubricant or spray.

Yes, ceiling fans come with a few other features that help with function, style, and convenience. Multi-speed fans can give you specialized control over the airflow. Consider getting one with an integrated light to save ceiling space. Some ceiling fans come with a remote control that enables you to change direction without climbing a ladder. Of course, you can also consider installing a wall switch to enjoy that convenience.
