"Amazing!!! We bought our home 6 months ago and it appeared that the windows had not been washed outside for many years. Both my husband and I tried to clean a few with no success, we could not get the built up water deposits, etc. to come off. The Window Genie crew of two came in and had all our windows sparkling before they left. They were very professional, friendly and worked hard. We will use them again for window washing and the other cleaning services they provide. We highly recommend."

"Zac has been a fantastic professional. He is kind, honest, fair, and provides quality work! He has shown up as promised and on time. Had been clear and kind in his communication, and has proved his integrity time and time again, in both pricing and his work! You will be pleasantly surprised if you chose to hire Zac. Top Notch! ."

"It has been my experience that the craftsmanship in Sandpoint is disfunctional at best. I'm ALWAYS leary about having someone do work for me. I have FINALLY found someone that I can trust to do the work right. Jason I have already suggested you to several people who have the same opinion as me. I don't know if they will have anything, but at least they know who you are and where they can reach you. Thanks for the nice work on my kitchen. Rich Mays"

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

A blinking, or twinkle, bulb makes Christmas lights blink. Usually, this type of bulb has a silver or red tip, making it easily distinguishable from other non-blinking bulbs. Most packages of Christmas lights come with additional blinking and non-blinking bulbs. Additional bulbs can be purchased at a hardware store or online retailer.

No one has figured out a perfect solution to this problem. Tying icicle lights down or adding weights to them can help, but it’s a very time-consuming process and far from foolproof. If your winters are too windy, we suggest simply switching away from icicle lights to straight runs of non-dangling lights along the edge of your roof.

No, you should not leave LED Christmas lights up all year. While the LED lights themselves are very durable, their wiring and casings can be as vulnerable as any Christmas lights. They’re subject to drying out, experiencing cold or sun damage that causes them to crack, and even damage caused by gnawing pests. (The same is true of incandescents.) If you want your lights to last the years that they’re rated for, bring them inside after Christmas is over.

To get in the festive mood, you might turn to hanging holiday lights yourself. In many circumstances, DIY Christmas light installation can be cost-effective, not to mention fun. However, it’s best to consider any limitations to this task and how that might affect your overall project, like tall roofs. Consider hiring a Christmas light installer to place lights or decorations in hard-to-reach areas like roof peaks to avoid the risk of injury.

Cold weather can cause older incandescent Christmas lights to fail by causing cracks in the finish or the glass itself. Modern LED lights are affected in the opposite way and perform even better as the temperature drops.
