"Trailhead Tree Service was fantastic! Ryan was very professional, and the entire crew was hard working and a personable bunch of guys. We had a difficult job including the removal of a lot of tall pine trees that were hard to get at, but they managed to complete it quickly and efficiently. We were very pleased and highly recommend Trailhead. We were also happy with the $ quote and communication."

The old pine could no longer fend off the beetles. 2021 was a hot, dry summer and unfortunately many trees were lost. The fall zone for this large tree was tight, but with some careful preparations and precautions, the tree was successfully felled with no collateral damage.

"Adam and his crew beautifully removed a colossal old pine that was posing structural danger. They also took out some old diseased trees along our driveway. Both projects began when scheduled, were completed on time and clean up was lovely. I won’t hesitate to contact Tree Brothers for future tree services!"

"Sure Cut Tree Service was excellent in every way. I received a fair bid, and the project started the next day. Communication by phone, text, and email was timely and appropriate. The work was completed on time and exceeded my expectations. As part of the project, Sure Cut removed three mature ponderosa pines close to power lines and my neighbor's home. My neighbor was also pleased with their professionalism and friendliness! Well done, Nick."

"Joe’s Yard Service was professional, hard-working and did a great job. They removed trees, juniper bushes, ground stumps, and pruned trees and arborvitae. They went above and beyond and ground stumps that were not in the original bid. They did a good job cleaning up. I would highly recommend them!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

While trees can grow in the curb strip between the sidewalk and the street, this placement often poses the problem of interfering with overhead power lines. It’s best to consult your local utility provider and tree planting service before transplanting a tree that might grow into power lines. Also, you should never work within 20 feet of a live power line to avoid the risk of electric shock. Tree branches should never touch nearby power lines, so it’s essential to ensure your tree isn’t in danger of growing too close to them.

Dead tree branches should be removed, because they can cause the tree to lose nutrients. They can also make the tree more susceptible to disease and pests. Removing dead and diseased branches can help the tree recover and increase the odds of saving a dying tree. Make sure to prune the tree correctly to avoid damaging it further.

Leaf removal costs between $400 and $1,000 per acre on average. Nationally, the cost of leaf removal averages about $350. Cost factors for this project include lawn size, leaf removal method, tree density, location, and the time required to do the job. If your lawn removal service charges based on lawn size, you can expect to pay $0.02 to $0.10 per square foot.

While it’s best to have access to large, healthy, strong trees in a safe position, treehouse living is still possible without them. Contractors can fit tree posts to build the structure onto or use posts as additional support alongside the trees themselves. If you’re in doubt about the suitability of the trees on your land, consult with a local treehouse builder before you start the project.

If it’s your property, then you can plant a tree near power lines, but it’s not the best idea. Any vegetation that grows within 10 feet or so of power lines will fall under the responsibility of the utility company, and they may trim or remove it as necessary. If you do move forward with your plan, try to choose a smaller ornamental tree, plant it as far away from the power lines as you can, and keep it trimmed to avoid future problems.
