"Due to faulty concrete work by another company that didn't stand by its work, I needed the footings for my carport posts replaced. I found Pave Hawk on a search and they had great reviews, so I contacted Pave Hawk and spoke to Terry Parham. Even though it was a small job (but not an easy one), Terry promptly sent out Leon Mynhardt to access the situation and I was quickly given a quote by Terry. Within a few days, the weather improved enough for Leon to perform the work. Leon is a pro. Did a fantastic job. He showed me what was done incorrectly by the original installer. Very conscientious, super efficient and a really nice guy. I am delighted with the results of Leon's work. The footings look great and, more importantly, I no longer have to worry about my carport collapsing. If you are looking for a concrete company, I highly recommend Pave Hawk Construction."

Small jobs welcome

"Great work! I will definitely hire them again for other work on my property and will highly recommend this company to others in the future. He dug up a nightmarish patch of bushes, rocks, and plants; smoothed it all down and laid beautiful sod. He also cleaned up the area before leaving. I couldn't be happier! I appreciated the regular communication via phone/text to keep me apprised of the work schedule and the after-care of the new sod. Ethan is a very hard-working and knowledgeable young man."

"Alex and the crew did a fantastic job, our driveway spot is on a slope and they did an excellent job sloping the concrete. I'm really happy with the way it turned out I'm glad we chose them and we will choose them again for any other concrete we need."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

The material that’s best for your private road depends on your property, the climate in your area, and your personal preferences. Gravel is an affordable option, but some homeowners don’t like how it looks. It can be a pain to remove snow from, and it requires more ongoing maintenance than asphalt or concrete. However, while these other options require less maintenance and make snow removal a breeze, they’re more expensive and will need repairs from time to time. Ultimately, you’ll have to choose the road material that suits you and your property best.

A driveway's lifespan varies by material. Asphalt driveways typically last 15 to 30 years, while concrete driveways last longer, between 20 and 50 years. The longevity of any driveway is affected by factors like extreme temperatures, heavy traffic, and the quality of maintenance. Regular upkeep, such as filling cracks, resealing the surface, and ensuring proper drainage, can help extend its life. For gravel driveways, regrading to fill in uneven areas every year or two is recommended.

Your driveway contractor will probably recommend that you avoid driving on your new millings driveway for up to a week. Keeping pressure off the freshy applied millings will help the driveway to bind together. While the sun is helpful for binding millings, hotter weather can actually make the curing process take longer.

Overall, a paver driveway is considered the easiest to maintain because homeowners are able to do driveway repair one piece at a time without impacting the rest of the driveway. Unlike paved options, paver driveways contain individual stones that aren't physically connected. By comparison, you may need to reseal or redo a full asphalt driveway if just one portion sustains a significant crack.

Asphalt edging secures the sides of your driveway to prevent crumbling and cracking over time. Most driveways have edges with a 45-degree grading. This helps transfer some of the stress from the asphalt to the ground underneath. If your driveway doesn’t have proper edging, the pressure from your car may break down the edges over time.
