Find Roofers in Coeur D Alene

"These guys are great! I had a leaky roof, called several roofing companies and everyone was too busy to help me in the cold of February. I had researched the BBB and Angie's List websites and created a list of only the top-rated roofers in my area. I'm forever grateful that Lake City Roofing was the one that was able to fix my leak and later reroof my house!!! They did excellent work and were prompt, polite, professional and super detailed and tidy. Thank you, Lake City Roofing!"

"Barton Roofing in Spokane was responsible for installing the roof on the townhome we purchased less than 4 years ago. While they were not responsible for the choice of roof vents installed (the HVAC company left them for installation), they were responsible for the incorrect installation of at least one of them. These vents were plastic, and 2 out of 5 have cracked. On one of them the nail hole was missed - with the nail being hammered in an inch or so away - causing a crack to appear along the vent. One of the cracked vents now leaks and having had the roof examined - it appears also that some nailing was done incorrectly around the roof. It looks like I have roof maintenance that I didn't expect. Our roof is now out of warranty and Barton would not come out to give an estimate - only quoting a certain amount covers 2 hours of work. While we don't expect to move home anytime soon, we will not entertain buying another home if Barton Roofing had anything to do with it. My neighbors have cracked vents too. At the time of writing I don't know if Barton were responsible for installation but I will edit this review if they were."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

How long it takes to replace a roof can vary, but most roof replacements take anywhere from one to 12 days . The crew size, roof size, and complexity can affect the cost of your project, especially if your roofing contractor charges by the hour. Metal roofs generally take longer than asphalt shingles, wood, slate, concrete, and tile, averaging between seven and 14 days. This is because metal is more difficult to work with than most other materials, excluding slate and other heavy materials.

Yes, replacing a roof is always a good investment if the current one is in poor condition. Not only will it preserve the structural integrity of the home, but it can also add value at the time of sale. The average return on investment for a new roof is between 48% and 61%. Prospective buyers are also more likely to purchase a home with a recently replaced roof since that means they won’t need to worry about that expense in the near future.

You can replace a roof in the winter, though it’s not the most popular time to do so. The biggest drawback of winter roofing work is the weather. Snow and ice make for dangerous, slippery working conditions. Plus, shingles can only be installed in temperatures above 40 to 45 degrees.

The best time to replace a roof is in the spring or fall when the weather is mild. However, you can likely save some money by booking the job in the winter off-season, when roofers have more availability.

Green roofs are incredibly long-lasting. Some have life spans of up to 40 or 50 years. Since the roofs help to protect the rest of your home's roofing system, they can also extend the life of your existing roof.

Regular maintenance and inspections will help you get the most out of your green roof and ensure it lasts as long as possible.

Metal roofs have a bad reputation for being loud, even if that's not necessarily true—it's usually only thin tin or sheet metal roofs that are loud during storms. Stone coating adds a layer to the metal that severely cuts down on any noise from rain. In many ways, stone-coated steel roofs are quieter than your average, run-of-the-mill asphalt shingle roof.
