Barton Roofing

Barton Roofing in Spokane was responsible for installing the roof on the townhome we purchased less than 4 years ago. While they were not responsible for the choice of roof vents installed (the HVAC company left them for installation), they were responsible for the incorrect installation of at least one of them. These vents were plastic, and 2 out of 5 have cracked. On one of them the nail hole was missed - with the nail being hammered in an inch or so away - causing a crack to appear along the vent. One of the cracked vents now leaks and having had the roof examined - it appears also that some nailing was done incorrectly around the roof. It looks like I have roof maintenance that I didn't expect. Our roof is now out of warranty and Barton would not come out to give an estimate - only quoting a certain amount covers 2 hours of work. While we don't expect to move home anytime soon, we will not entertain buying another home if Barton Roofing had anything to do with it. My neighbors have cracked vents too. At the time of writing I don't know if Barton were responsible for installation but I will edit this review if they were.

The actual roofing went fine after we argued about what their bid included. We have a breezeway between our house and garage, it was specifically stated in the bid that thsy would roof the breezeway. Once the work started, they claimed the breezeway was not included, and would cost more to do. I showed them the bid, and they claimed that breezeway to them meant our laundry room, I got out the dictionary and read them the definition of breezeway which matched our situation perfectly, so they finally agreed to do the breezeway at no extra cost. Our roof leaked several times, Barton roofing would come out and patch it. When the leaks caused damage to our ceiling inside, they told me to contact our insurance provider and make a claim. It took me many calls, much discussion, and threats before they sent someone out to fix the ceiling, and about a month of waiting after they finally agreed it was their responsibility.  It has been five years since I have had a problem now, and I am very glad, as it is ALWAYS a huge hassle to get them to do what they guarantee

We had a two level hip roof design and they had a very competitive quote.  During the bidding process I discovered some major structural issues with the roof, which I fixed myself, and they came in and finished off the demo beyond what I'd done to fix the problems.  I was a little concerned with their demo crew's ability to deal with the re-sheeting, but they did pull it off in a satisfactory manner.  They cleaned up very well and were polite and did what I asked them to.  The roofers showed up right away and were very competent, did a nice, quick job, and dealt with the special issues of the roof in a competent manner.

Overalll things went well and they completed  the job in a timely fashion; very little waste; cosmetically very good.  The were a few retained cellophane strips on last row of shingles.

If you have a tile roof, DO NOT go with just anybody go with Barton roofing. Many came and looked at the job but Barton knew what we had. Don't let just anybody on your tile roof.

The service was good. They were punctual and were here when they said they would be. They came out and gave an estimate and stuck with that price after the work was completed.

They were really innovative about it, in helping us collecting material and what was the best way to handle it because they have never done a caboose before. It looked spectacular. The rebuilt the roof structure is the spring. Then they put on an adhesive sheet on until more work was done and we were ready for a final coat of shingles. They were just fun to work with. They were very creative and helpful. They were interested in the job, they were reasonable and they were effective. The price was really reasonable. We have used them for other roofing issues as well. They always do a great job. They just get it done with no fuss. I would surely recommend them.

They’ve been around for awhile. The experience has been great. They have some experienced workers and they really know what they were doing. They’re a very good outfit.

They were fine. They did a good work. They were prompt. They did what they said they were going to do. When we needed them to do a little more job, they came out and did that too and that was fine. They cut out the tile from the roof for another company who were doing the rate on reduction. They did a good job so we had them come out again. They were on time.
