"Project: install and replace electrical panels, wire newly constructed garage. I recommend this company. They were prompt, thorough, friendly, and did quality work. My construction contractor said this was the first time he saw an electrical crew sweep up in his 23 years of experience."

"Chris priced the system very well, listened well as I explained my needs, installed the system quickly and even worked with my own electrician of choice. Frank & Chris were fast and courteous on the job. As a retired HVAC contractor I know good from bad and it was done properly at a fantastic price point."

"Contacted Tully's to have a service rep come out to discuss a problem with a heating/cooling issue in one room in our home. On 7/23/2010 Bow from Tully's came out and checked out our issue and discovered the ducting to this room was too small and explained the problem with me. Bow gave me a price to do the upgrade to the proper size ducting as well as adding an additional floor register to this room to correct the problem and I agreed to the price. Bow also discussed with me, via my request, about their yearly maintenance program on the furnace and A/C equipment. I also agreed to that as the price is very reasonable for what they do and peace of mind. Work was performed on the 28th which was very quickly scheduled (thank you Laura from the office) when Bow came back out and replaced the ducting with the larger size and installed the additional floor register. Bow's work is very professional, clean and neat and there was very little in the way of clean up when he finished. Now that room is nice and cool like the rest of our home and I'm sure it will be nice and warm this Winter and we will have no need for the portable heater that we had to use last year in there. I am happy to be a satisfied Tully's customer! Thank You Tully's!"

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Most propane boilers last 15 to 20 years with regular maintenance and proper care. The lifespan depends on the quality of the unit, proper installation, and the level of maintenance. Investing in annual service can maximize longevity and efficiency. Routine inspections and timely repairs prevent early breakdown, ensuring your boiler heats your home for years to come.

Steam boilers require flushing at least every six to 12 months to keep them operating effectively for as long as possible. Depending on your water quality and frequency of use, you might need to do this more frequently. The flushing process helps to remove problematic buildup of sediments. While a boiler contractor near you can perform a thorough annual flush, learning how to drain the system yourself means you can do this monthly if you experience speedy mineral accumulation because of hard water.

If you have a closed-system boiler that requires an expansion tank, you cannot safely operate it without one, as this risks extensive damage or even explosions. You must find a way to make room for the installation. Options include repositioning the boiler, rerouting the boiler piping to a more open area, or performing minor remodeling to create the necessary space. If you are unsure whether your boiler needs an expansion tank or how to best accommodate one, it's recommended to have a local heating service professional assess the situation. They can confirm the requirement and suggest the most practical solution.

Due to fuel line connections and venting complexity, professional installation is required for safety and efficiency.

Generally, an oil furnace is considered safer than a gas furnace for several reasons. While both types of furnaces can produce carbon monoxide, a leak in an oil furnace is easier to detect due to the smell. Oil furnaces also don't connect to a gas pipeline, which reduces the chance of a fuel leak. Most importantly, heating oil is not combustible, whereas natural gas is highly flammable. This means there is a much lower risk of combustion or explosion with an oil furnace. However, an oil furnace can still pose a fire hazard if it tips over.
