Which he had a difficult time with but, he succeeded at . We are very, very happy with all the windows. Much more energy efficient & so saves a lot of money in the long run. "I had just sold my house and needed my roof replaced. Dwight came out the next day after my request to look at my roof. He was very professional and explained everything so I understood exactly what he would take care of. They ended up getting a cancellation and were able to do my roof in a week. He kept in contact through the whole process. His crew arrived on time and they too were very pleasant. They were very thorough from start to finish. They cleaned up afterwards to the point you would never have known I had just had my roof replaced. My roof looks great! I canâ t say enough good things about Roofing Experts! Thank you for a wonderful experience!"

Windows questions, answered by experts

On average, hurricane windows last between 20 and 30 years. But some windows only last 10 years, while others can last 50 years or longer. Vinyl hurricane windows have a shorter lifespan than aluminum, so invest in high-quality hurricane windows and properly maintain them to get the most out of your investment.

Yes, window manufacturers and installers can mull together three windows—or even more—for a more impressive appearance that lets maximum natural light into your home. However, you may have constraints regarding the total size of the wall opening. Your installer can help you determine what size wall opening is safe based on the structural load. In most cases, you can install additional supports to span the opening, like a steel I-beam, but this drastically increases the installation cost.

Wood windows are often worth the cost because they add more to curb appeal and your home value than more affordable options like vinyl and aluminum. Wood windows also offer better insulation than vinyl and aluminum windows, and they can last about twice as long. As such, they’re more expensive up front but offer greater value and a higher ROI.

It is legal to put bars on windows in most places, but it depends on the type of bars you choose and the regulations in your area. For example, there are building codes in Mississippi, California, and Texas that forbid the use of permanently closed burglar bars on windows due to concerns about people getting trapped inside during fires.

Yes, it is generally better and more cost-effective to replace all your windows at once. Contractors often lower the per-window labor and material costs for larger projects, saving you money in the long run. Installers may also quote a flat rate for overhead, making multiple small jobs more expensive than one large one.

Replacing all windows simultaneously offers other advantages:

  • Aesthetics and Home Value: It creates a cohesive style and uniform energy efficiency, which is appealing to potential home buyers.

  • Efficiency: The entire replacement process, which can take several weeks, is completed in a single, more efficient project.

However, replacing all windows requires a significant upfront investment. While you can replace just a few windows, experts recommend replacing at least five to eight at a time to avoid high overhead costs. An exception is when a single window is damaged; in that case, it can be replaced on its own.
