"The window install was flawless. A very nice window. Renewal by Andersen is top notch. They did a patio door for us a few years before we had them do the window. The patio door had some issues but Renewal by Andersen took care of them and we are still happy with the door."

"Dave arrived just as he promised and my door was installed in short time. I'm extremely satisfied with the door that Dave suggested I buy and very satisfied with the job that he did. He left his contact information in case I have any problems but I don't have any trepidation about the door being well installed."

"When I asked my furnace repairman how I could lower my heating bills, he said get new windows on our 57 year old home. A neighbor just had her back deck replaced by Buresh Home Solutions and was very happy with the job they did, and highly recommended them. Their salesman came out, and had a promotional package we couldn't ignore, so we replaced ALL the windows upstairs, ALL basement half windows downstairs, and our rear door. The price was right, the work was very professional, and we lowered our thermostate two degree....... hopefully forever! We recommend Buresh Home Solutions for any home improvement project. "Titan did a magnificent job on my property during the past week. I needed the following done: Grading work on my 3 acre property and three different types of rocks delivered. I also needed additional black dirt brought in to make it perfect. From start to finish the communication was excellent with Will. He let me know what time they would get to my job and everything that was going on during the work process. This is something that a lot of contractors just fail to do in my past experiences. They provide top notch equipment, with many different attachments for various types of jobs during the entire process. This ensures that the job is done correctly, the first time! Lastly, customer service could not be better. They (Will and Tim) stayed with the job until I was completely satisfied. Always keeping a great attitude no matter how many questions I asked. Even going the extra nine yards finishing the job better than I expected."

Customers say: Quality work

"We chose Window Concepts because they brought product samples to our home to assist us in picking out a new entry door and sidelights. I wasn't pleased with the scheduling process for installation though. They called 45 minutes after our original installation appointment time and said they wouldn't be able to make it that day. I had to wait another week and though they were a few hours late, they did show up. Despite the wait the installers did a great job and we are happy with the finished product."

Window Door Contractors FAQs, answered by experts

Whether you should repair or replace a screen door depends on the type and extent of the damage. It is easy and economical to repair a small tear in the mesh using a widely available DIY patch kit. However, if there are large tears, multiple damaged spots, or if the screen is made of a specialized material, replacing the entire screen mesh might be a better long-term investment for a tidier appearance. You should also consider the condition of the frame; if the frame itself is damaged, it's likely time to replace the entire door. Other factors to weigh include whether you want a new style or need a more durable door.

Window screens can take anywhere between 10 minutes and an hour to replace, depending on the complexity of the replacement and the accessibility of the window. Replacing the screen inside an existing frame normally takes longer than replacing an entire screen, frame and all, if you purchase a prefabricated screen already mounted on the frame.

While the benefits of garage door screens usually outweigh the downsides, there are some cons to installing one. First off, they can be quite expensive, especially if you’re having a professional install a retracting screen or a custom size screen. Second, they let fresh air and natural light in, but they also don’t provide the same privacy from people in the neighborhood that a solid door does. As you might guess, screens also won’t insulate your garage, so they’re often not usable in colder weather.

Most window screens in residential homes are designed to be removed from the inside, especially with double-hung, single-hung, and casement styles. That said, some setups require exterior removal. Older homes or custom installs may have exterior clips or brackets, and sunscreens are almost always mounted on the outside. Before removing your window screen, look at how it is held in place.

Window screens are available in several standard sizes. Common dimensions include 24 to 36 inches wide by 36 to 48 inches tall, as well as sizes like 18 by 14 inches and 20 by 20 inches. These often correspond to standard window sizes, such as 2 feet wide by 3 feet tall or 4 feet wide by 6 feet tall. Screens are also sold in replacement rolls to accommodate various dimensions. It is always best to measure your windows for accuracy before a repair or replacement. If your windows are a non-standard size, you will likely need to order custom screens, which can increase the cost. However, a screen does not necessarily have to fit the entire window, so you may be able to use a standard-size screen even if your window is slightly larger.
