"We had the last 3 windows replaced in the house. They had replaced 5 other windows a 1 1/2 ago, plus the sliding door out to deck, kitchen window & bathroom window & basement window. Which he had a difficult time with but, he succeeded at . We are very, very happy with all the windows. Much more energy efficient & so saves a lot of money in the long run. No more putting plastic on living room windows & sliding door in the winter !!!"

"Dave arrived just as he promised and my door was installed in short time. I'm extremely satisfied with the door that Dave suggested I buy and very satisfied with the job that he did. He left his contact information in case I have any problems but I don't have any trepidation about the door being well installed."

"When I asked my furnace repairman how I could lower my heating bills, he said get new windows on our 57 year old home. A neighbor just had her back deck replaced by Buresh Home Solutions and was very happy with the job they did, and highly recommended them. Their salesman came out, and had a promotional package we couldn't ignore, so we replaced ALL the windows upstairs, ALL basement half windows downstairs, and our rear door. The price was right, the work was very professional, and we lowered our thermostate two degree....... hopefully forever! We recommend Buresh Home Solutions for any home improvement project. "Will is extremely knowledgeable and able to explain in detail to a layman the design as well as the reasoning behind it. We had a somewhat complex driveway put in on a slope with bad water drainage and the company did an amazing job putting in the drive and re-routing the water. They did it all in two days and went above and beyond."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Ensures proper fit and function, maximizing insect protection and airflow.

Yes, if you have ventilated skylights, you can install insect screens on them. Insect screens for skylights cost $10 to $50 each, depending on their size and quality. Most pros highly recommend insect screens for ventilated skylights because they keep pests outside of your home while allowing fresh air inside.

Window seals don’t last forever, so they’ll inevitably fail for one reason or another. One of the most common reasons is the expansion and contraction of the glass. When the glass gets warm from sunlight, it expands and adds pressure to the seal; at night, as the glass cools, it contracts. This process, day in and day out, can eventually cause the seal to fail. Other common sources of failure include the house settling over time, chemicals that damage the seal when repainting windows, and incorrect window installation.

While the telltale signs can vary for different types of screen doors, it may be time to learn how to install a screen door if you're noticing rotting, warping, or splintering accompanying the sagging. If you’re unsure whether to replace a sagging screen door, consult a local screen door pro for an inspection and final decision.

Among the various entry points into your residence, it's crucial to recognize that your basement windows are arguably the most susceptible. Basements usually have windows facing the side and back yards, often concealed from driveway floodlights, porch lighting, and doorbell cameras. Their vulnerability underscores the importance of reinforcing basement window security to safeguard your home from break-ins.
