Only thing that could make job better was if they were to clean the exterior of the windows before painting or before replacing the screens, since there is no way for a homeowner to clean upper story windows. Would be great if they washed the screens also. No one else, I have used, has done this either. THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. We recently purchased a new house and are renovating the entire home. We have had 5 contractors in/out of the house and ABC was the only contractor that we had a problem with. Not only did we have a problem but I am convinced they are one of the worst companies for window replacements. Prior to going with ABC we saw a few positive reviews on Angie's list and also noticed they were "Trust Dale" certified. I did some research and they seemed like a good company. We got estimates from 3 window replacement companies and I liked what ABC had to offer the best. The sales rep Nick Sabia was very nice, detailed and the process went very smooth at the start. The company notified us when the windows were in (as expected) and then scheduled our install date. The install date came and the installers showed up as expected. Everything to this point was great, after this point is when everything went wrong.
The installers started removing the Windows only to stop after 2. They notified me that they were damaging the drywall while removing the windows and they wanted ABC to release them of the liability of the drywall damage. ABC was then called in to review the situation and basically give the installers a "OK, don't worry about the drywall we'll fix that after". ABC told the installers to continue and said they would provide to me in writing that they would fix the damages caused by the removal. I sent follow up emails to Suzanne & Michelle in the office about getting that in writing. They said they would pass the emails on to the President Matt Singleton who would follow up with me. It has been 5 weeks and still no letter. The installers continued removing the windows and installing the new ones. After the first day they had only 6 windows complete but said they would finish the following day. The following day (Tuesday) they showed up and got only 6 more windows in. So we still had 6 windows to go and a sliding door. But since Thanksgiving was the next day they wouldn't' be able to come out until Saturday. I agreed and waited for them on Saturday. They didn't call, show up, or return my calls. Monday I called ABC who said the crew would return that day so I waited. Monday came and went and they showed up unannounced on Tuesday. Luckily I work from home so they got started. They finished the windows and then the sliding glass door. About 9 days had gone by and we were finally getting closer to getting done (or so I thought). After they left I noticed they didn't install the sliding glass door correctly, it protruded 3" outside of the house and looked ridiculous. We were also missing the hardware on the door (handles) of the screen door, and the screen door wasn't installed yet because they were waiting for hardware. I called the installers and they said they would finish the door when they returned to cap the exterior the next day.
Wednesday came and went and I never heard from the installers. They then randomly showed up Thursday to cap the exterior. After attempting one window they stopped and called me outside. They explained they couldn't do the exterior capping because they didn't have anyway to screw in the capping, so they would only be able to hold it in with caulk. That was unacceptable so I asked for alternative. They said they would have ABC hire a siding company to trim the Windows with hardy board. They also said they would return with the hardware and install the sliding screen door and fix the issues with the glass door. 9 days and 5 phone calls later I finally had a siding crew at the house. During this period of time the exterior of the windows were WIDE OPEN to the elements. The siding crew did a a great job but half way through the job ABC said it would cost another $1,000 for the trim work to be complete. At first they said an additional $400 (which I was OK with) but then it ballooned to $1,000. At this point we are 3 weeks late and $1,000 over budget and my sliding door still wasn't fixed and we had damaged drywall everywhere. The trim crew left and said the company would follow up with someone to caulk the exterior. The day after the trim crew left we noticed that some windows were sticking out at funny angles. After measuring I noticed NONE OF THE WINDOWS WERE SQUARE IN THE FRAMES! It seems the first installers just eye balled the windows in the frames! A $5 tape measure would of fixed the issue! So we told ABC not only did they need to caulk the trim, fix the door but also had to fix the crooked windows! Finally ABC sent out one of their employees to square the windows, only to have him realize that it was a two man job. So again we had to wait 2 more weeks for them to come out and square the windows, fix the sliding door and caulk the exterior. The job was completed finally on 2/4. The job was supposed to take 1.5 days and instead took almost 3 months. We fought to have ABC give us compensation and after all this they only knocked $250 off the price. If you took the time to read this you'll realize this isn't the company to go with. The Siding Doctor is the worst company I have ever dealt with in nearly 50 years of dealing with contractors on a daily basis. They did not honor a single completion date, they had to correct everything they installed. Actually saying they corrected is not correct. They attempted to correct their shoddy work until I gave up and accepted what I assumed was their best. They never returned a phone call in the 6 months it took them to complete a months work (their schedule). They scheduled the work so that they had to remove some items so they could install others and then didn't finish repairing what they broke.
I contacted them in May, took 6 bids and they were lowest. Jeff Shea was personable and returned several times to let me see different products. We agreed to a price and signed a contract with a 3000 down payment and the rest to be paid upon completion near the end of May. I paid 1500 at the signing, holding 1500 for them to show up on time. I didn't hear from anyone for 2 weeks. I attempted to call Jeff with no answer or return call. I called the office and was advised to call the Project Manager. I called him and he had never heard of me. I called him for two weeks on a daily basis and he finally had windows and siding delivered. I went over the windows and advised the Siding Doctor office that the windows were not correct. Now it was near the end of June and I had my garage full of windows, my drive way full of siding and no work even started.
Finally 2 workers showed up and started removing windows around the first of July. They didn't have a dumpster, they loaded the demolition debris on a trailer in the driveway (I am still finding nails). Approximately every other day one would show up and work for a few hours and leave. It took several weeks to finish removing and installing the new windows and they had broken one of the windows in the process leaving the old window in the opening. They had broken the old window removing it so it was held together with tape and wedged in the opening with a minimum one inch gap around it, said opening would stay open until September.
After calling a minimum of 6 times a day for several weeks a crew appeared on a Monday. Told me they couldn't work without a dumpster and left. After calling a minimum of 6 times a day for several days a dumpster appeared in the center of my driveway. This was the walking dead of dumpsters, huge 30 feet long, 10 feet wide, 6 feet high, bent dented rusty multicolor antique of a dumpster. I mention this because it soon became a major feature of my home. They removed the siding wrapped the sheathing and installed new siding. This crew was efficient, neat and professional. Upon completion a painting crew appeared, again efficient, neat and professional. The siding was complete except the French doors had not been replaced so the siding around the French door would have to be removed to install, which would damage the new Siding.
Near the end of July or beginning of August and several hundred phone calls, the doors were delivered. Several hundred phone calls (all unanswered and not returned) I finally contacted Jeff and informed him the glass in the bathroom windows was wrong and the broken window was still broken and the dumpster was still in my driveway and the doors were still not installed. I called daily for over 5 weeks about the dumpster without a response. I called the office everyday and was told the dumpster would be removed that day...for weeks.
Sometime near the end of August two workers appeared, removed the old French doors and installed the new ones. They appeared to trim back the new siding with a chain saw and sledge hammer to install the new doors. Back to the phone. Around this time I discovered that Jeff would sometimes answer if a called at least 10 times in a row. His response was usually something about he had to call someone else and would call me back...he never called me back during the 6 month ordeal.
Several weeks went by and the same two who had torn up the new siding and installed the wrong interior trim reappeared with several tubes of silicone calk. The proceeded to smear the calk around the new doors for approximately 2 feet. A couple of hundred phone calls and Jeff came by, looked at the mess and said "Oh my". New siding appeared, same guy that had messed everything up appeared, took out the damaged siding, installed new and left. Leaving the newly installed siding un painted.
several hundred phone calls leaving Jeff the message siding was unpainted and the broken window was still broken and 2 new guys showed up with the replacement window for the broken one...and paint. They installed the new window, replaced the trim around the window and started painting the exterior windows and newly replaced siding. Upon looking at the new window I realized it was jammed in the opening at a obvious angle. several hundred phone calls and Jeff came by and hammered it in straight (I hope, around this time I wanted them gone as much as I wanted the work done).
several hundred phone calls and the painters came back to finish the interior trim. after smearing stain on everything, leaving gaping unstained areas and painting they appeared to be finished. The dumpster disappeared and the only sign they left was siding, trim and other materials in the driveway and garage. I looked over the contract and remembered Jeff had insisted I have the soffit and gutters repainted. dozens of phone calls and the painters were back and quickly finished this painting and removed the excess building supplies. Now the saga of the screens began. Call after call and the screens appeared in the garage. I counted the screens and determined there were more screens than I had windows. I left several messages, finally the painters appeared to install the screens and informed me there were more screens than windows yet two screens were missing. Dozens of calls and Jeff appeared with the correct screens and took the excess.
I haven't mentioned money so far...I paid 1/2 the down payment in an attempt to get the job moving quickly. When someone finally answered my original phone calls, the first thing they said was I hadn't made the down payment. I actually paid the entire 3000 at that time, which with the original 1500 made a 4500 payment. When the work started, the only communication from the Siding Doctor was calls from the office, the Project Manager and even Jeff asking for money. I always referred to the contract and said no. In August I decided they didn't have the money to pay for the replacement window and probably the doors, so I made another 5000 payment. Weekly they requested payment. I refused and I am convinced that is why they bothered to "finish" the project.
They said they were complete and I paid them in October, received the warranty in February. I have a long list of touch up and repairs to their "work" which will take me years to finish. But they are gone, I don't have to try to reach them and I don't have to listen to their constant requests for money.
I wouldn't even consider the Siding Doctor for anything if I were you.

FAQs for window screen repair projects in Kennesaw, GA
Whether you should repair or replace your window screens depends on the severity of the damage and the screen’s age. For large tears or holes or multiple points of damage, replacing your screen may be more cost-effective than attempting to repair the damage. If your screens are more than 10 years old, they may continue to give you issues after repair, so it’s likely worth replacing them. We recommend hiring a local screen repair technician, as they will have tools on hand for a repair or replacement and can recommend the best course of action.
In most cases, custom window treatments are well worth the investment. Custom window treatments not only elevate your curb appeal and make your home more visually pleasing inside, but they also often do a better job of boosting your home’s energy efficiency than non-custom treatments, and they usually last longer. Plus, specialty window treatments can increase your home value if maintained well, so your investment is more worthwhile in the long run in most cases, too.
It’s possible to make minor screen repairs yourself using a waterproof adhesive for small tears or a screen patch kit for larger tears and holes. However, it’s usually a better option to call in a professional window technician. It’s very easy to use too much waterproof glue, resulting in a messy appearance that might demand a full replacement anyway. A screen repair technician will not only be able to carry out clean repairs and patches that aren’t obvious, but they can also let you know if replacing your screen is a more cost-effective option.
Window screen repair costs around $310 on average, ranging from $100 to $480, depending on material, the type of window screen, the window size, the accessibility of the window, and whether you need to replace the window screen frame. You can save money on window screen repair costs by using a more affordable material like vinyl or fiberglass, rescreening instead of replacing them, and swapping multiple screens at once to combine labor costs.
Custom window treatments cost around $900 per window, and prices usually fall between $150 and $4,800. Your total will depend on many factors, including the type of window treatment, the amount and size of the windows, your home’s location, and the labor cost. Blinds and shutters tend to be the most affordable custom window treatments at $600 to $2,700, and the most expensive options are valances, drapes, curtains, and estate shutters, costing up to $3,000.
