"My home was built in. 1982 and it began to sink 5 years ago in one long section. Because of the general condition of my home and IâÂÂm a 60 year old disabled Vet, And I can no longer make repairs myself, I was considering condemning my house, filing bankruptcy and walking away from it. But before I did this I got Alpha to give me a free estimate. They sent one of their Experts to check my house. He only showed me just what I needed to make my house complete and safe to live in. They never once tried to take advantage of me. I added to the work they recommended for my on peace of mind. All I had to do from beginning to end was to sign the contract. They took care of all the permitting and scheduling work crews, that by the way are Alpha employees, not subcontractors. You can tell that they know what they are doing and proud of their work. They have quality equipment and I canâÂÂt say enough about the professionalism of all their people. When they say they are going to do something they do it. I would definitely recommend ALPHA Foundations."

"I have waited too long to write this review. I did not want to write anything initially because I was mad at the time of my project's completion. Now though, overall, I am VERY satisfied with the quality and the cost of their work. They did go way beyond their originally quoted timeline however. (Disclaimer- the guy who initially quoted and oversaw my job no longer works for Mr. Turner and I believe it was as a direct result of his performance on my job.) My wife and I were disappointed in the extra time it took to complete the garage addition, but to Mr. Turner's credit, he honored the original price that I was quoted and he did not sacrifice quality on anything. I don't believe Mr. Turner made any money on my project, in fact he may have lost some. When the job is all said and done, of the 3 most important aspects- cost, quality, and timeframe, Mr. Turner and his crew delivered on the 2 that mattered most to me. 2+ years later, my garage addition is still as solid and leak proof as the day it was constructed. I had a few small incidents along the way with my project, but the entire time, Mr. Turner was an upstanding and true to his word honest man. This is a very rare quality for many contractors in today's world. In the end, I would use him again for any job- big or small."

"I hired Waters to check out the duct work and HVAC at my mother's home. Jared found that the 45-yr-old duct work, original to the house, had holes and rips in it &in some places no longer connected; if sum, my mother was heating the attic. Jared was so thorough & did an analysis of the current unit and found that the unit was not big enough after closing in the garage and building on an extension. I had to go back to VA, but my mother was very pleased with the professionalism and courteousness of the employees from Waters. She said, "You couldn't have asked for better of the 3 young men." It's warm in here, now, & that's what matters!"

One starting point to find a local home builder is to collect suggestions from friends and neighbors. However, it’s still wise to do some more research before you hire a builder. Read reviews to supplement any word-of-mouth recommendations. Check sources like Angi that have standards and criteria in place to screen the pros it lists can also help you find more reputable local home builders.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses

Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Qualified, licensed electricians will charge from $50 to $100 per hour. The cost to hire an electrician for emergency visits may range from $100 to $200 per hour because this urgent service usually takes place during off hours and may require an electrician to leave or reschedule jobs they’re currently working on. Scheduling work on holidays or during periods of high customer demand, like after a major storm, will also lead to higher rates or extra fees.
