"The technician is a very active listener. With his professional knowledge, he diagnosed the multiple draining issues: kitchen sink slow drain, kitchen sink back-up when draining washer, and toilet slow drain. The partial blockage was gone when he test-ran the drain. I was not even charged for a trip charge. When I need to replace a water heater, Keep Smiling Plumbing will be in my mind."

"Good company. Good experience from the time I began obtaining an estimate, until the work was completed June 2016. Prices were fair and reasonable for above-builder-grade product on 2 (Carrier Performance Series) HVAC unit replacements. They were very accommodating on meeting the timeline promised. My ONLY issue was that a bit more care could have been exercised on the install... but it was hotter than Hades, making conditions brutal! I am choosing Ragsdale to continue to service our units. I give them a A-"

"Mr. Plumber company have always provided a very quick response. Their work is superior and professional, specifically Chris Jackson. Chris replaced my Garage Disposal yesterday (3/24/2026). He explained to me the benefits of each size unit. He installed the new unit in a timely manner. Moving forward, I will contact Mr.Plumber for any of my plumbing needs. Thank you Chris for giving me my disposal back!"

"Byrd and his crew were top notch! Communication was great. The quote process was fast. Price was very reasonable. Quality was the best. I had them remove an old railroad tie retaining wall and replace it with a block one. They also installed a catch basin, drain pipe, and dry creek bed in front of my house. They are both fantastic looking! They offered great suggestions which made the project exceed my expectations. I’d gladly hire Byrd again for any future needs and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to others."

"Would highly recommend Georgia Rooter Services! Edin came over on short notice, we were having plumbing issues and he solved them extremely quickly plus for a great price. Another company was sent over earlier from our warranty company to diagnose and treat the problem. He stated that you couldn t not access the line from within the house so he d have to dig outside to access the pipe so our warranty company wouldn t cover the costs. We believe that he was just trying to screw us over or get out of having to do the job. I am very glad with did our research and found Edin because he was able to access the line from within the crawl space (no digging required) and was able to rule out tree roots as the cause. We will definitely be using Georgia Rooter Services for our future plumbing needs!"

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Installation begins with removing existing doors if necessary, measuring, and accurately fitting the storm door frame and panel for a tight seal.

If you’re installing hurricane ties, consider other storm-proofing projects. You could call a window pro to install storm windows, get in touch with a door installer to add storm doors, or just ask your hurricane tie installer what other projects they’d recommend you get done at the same time.

Yes, installing or replacing a storm door is a manageable DIY project, especially for those with experience replacing regular doors. Many modern storm doors feature simple, pre-hung designs and come with the necessary hardware, making installation more convenient. With basic tools, a DIY installation is possible, though professional services can ensure proper alignment and weatherproofing. On average, installing a pre-hung storm door takes about four hours.

A storm door should be the same size as the front door. Both doors will fit into the same opening on the exterior of the home, so you can expect the storm door to be the same size as the front door. Most doors will be about 32 or 36 inches wide and 75 or 81 inches tall, although you can customize your door sizes.

Homes need solid construction to survive a hurricane, including these parts:

  • A secure foundation at the right elevation for your home’s flood threat level

  • Hurricane straps to secure your home’s foundation

  • Waterproof basement sealant or rubberized sheeting that directs water away from the foundation

  • A strong, well-attached roof that’s firmly secured to the framing

  • Shutters or roll-down window protectors that you can close outside to prevent broken windows

  • A garage door bracing system to keep high winds from caving in or tearing off the door

  • Deadbolts to keep your exterior doors in place against wind pressure and floodwater
