"Jireh Tree Service did an amazing job removing over a dozen huge Leyland Cypress trees from my yard. They did what seemed like mission impossible within a few hours including grinding the stumps and removing all the trees and debris from our yard. Our neighbors were shocked the next morning to see our trees all gone as if they were never there. I would highly recommend Jireh Tree Service. They are true professionals and their pricing was very reasonable."

Customers say: Quality work

"From the first call I made I was so impressed. Mr. Craig continually kept me informed as to the day when they would come - when a previous job ran longer than they planned he called to keep me posted and let me know he would be there a day later - then called the night before to confirm again and arrived at the time promised. They did an excellent job - other than missing a very large dead tree on my front yard, you would never know they had been there as every bit of the tree, branches, etc. was removed. He also is an arborist so was able to answer my questions and give me advice about a replacement tree. Can't recommend him highly enough"

"Excellent service. My backyard was badly overgrown. Ruben and his crew cleaned it, took away old fence panels, and even mowed the front yard. Excellent work. Highly recommend"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

In Augusta, a tree removal permit is required for removing trees larger than six inches in diameter or those located on public property, as outlined by the City of Augusta's Tree Ordinance. Heritage trees and work in the public right-of-way require additional approval from Richmond County. Coordination with Georgia Power is necessary for any tree work near utility lines. Always verify requirements with city officials before starting to avoid violations.

Helpful?

In Augusta, common mistakes include neglecting to obtain a tree removal permit from the City of Augusta, attempting hazardous tree work without proper training, or hiring unlicensed contractors. Over-pruning or topping trees can harm their health and violate local tree trimming regulations. Not accounting for Augusta's frequent storms, some homeowners fail to schedule preventive maintenance, increasing the risk of property damage during severe weather. Always verify contractor credentials and insurance.

Helpful?

Augusta residents can choose from several types of tree service contractors. Certified arborists offer expert tree health assessments and pruning, adhering to local tree trimming regulations. Tree removal specialists focus on safely dismantling and disposing of hazardous trees. Landscape companies may provide routine tree care as part of broader services, while emergency response teams are available for urgent storm damage, which is common during Augusta's severe weather events.

Helpful?

In Augusta, homeowners may encounter unexpected costs such as permit fees required by the City of Augusta, additional charges for stump grinding, or fees for debris removal mandated by Richmond County. If tree roots are entangled with underground utilities, extra coordination with local utility authorities may be necessary. Weather delays, especially during Augusta's storm season, can also impact scheduling and may require additional site protection measures.

Helpful?

In Augusta, certified arborists follow ANSI Z133 and OSHA safety standards for all tree service work. Professionals wear protective gear, including hard hats, gloves, and chainsaw chaps, and establish a clear safety perimeter. Homeowners should keep children and pets indoors during tree removal or trimming. If work is near power lines, Georgia Power must be notified. Augusta's humid climate can also make surfaces slippery, so extra caution is advised.
