Customers say: Quality work

"Jeff treated us like we are a long-term customer of his even though we were having him look at a nasty bush trimming job that would only be sporadically required. He provided really good prompt communication with us with his quote and insurance certificate and kept us well updated on our projected service date as it changed due to bad weather conditions. When Jeff came out and provided the trimming service, he was very protective of our neighbors' driveways, which he needed to use to access the work. He did exactly what we had asked him to do and we feel that he totally understood what was wanted and he went over and above to make us happy. At the end, Jeff took us around the work for a review and inspection to make sure everything was what we expected. If you want to work with someone who will get with you one-on-one and understand what you want done and then do that while leaving the surroundings beautiful and un-touched by his work, then Jeff is the one. Don't get him too busy though, because we want him back periodically to keep the bushes looking good."

"Apartment flooded - had almost all wooden furniture and sofa and beds and shelving units were broken and damaged from the water. I asked for help on Angie’s list and within 5 minutes, Paul replied - I told him what needed to be trashed. I sent a couple of pictures - he gave me an estimate and within an hour my apartment was cleared of all damaged furniture - Paul did it all himself - was very polite and friendly and left with the estimate he gave me even tho I added some pieces I hadn’t realized were damaged before he had given me the estimate.. Would like to add extra stars - will call him again but hope I don’t have to! Thank you Paul."

"We are so happy with everything this company has done! We cannot stop singing their praises. They went above and beyond to restore the master bathroom which was a massive undertaking. They also restored the master bedroom, removed a ton load of junk, redid the basement floors, painted walls, repaired water damage and even gave sound advice on other concerning things around the home and the landscaping and so much more. Wow! What an undertaking. And it was done with grace, patience and the highest level of professionalism. They kept us calm throughout the process when things became overwhelming for us. We will use them for all our contracting and landscaping needs. What a great experience and beautiful outcome. A million thank youâ s!!!!!!! God bless."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

The best way to remove lead paint is by wet hand sanding and removing all dust and residue with a HEPA vacuum. Professionals may also strip and scrape lead-based paint with a paint scraper. In some cases, you may choose to have a pro encapsulate or enclose your lead-based paint surface by covering it with a sealant or a new material. You may also choose to replace the material altogether.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hazardous waste is generally classified into four main categories:

1. Characteristic Wastes: These exhibit at least one of four hazardous traits: ignitability (flammable, like gasoline), corrosivity (can rust or decompose materials, like car batteries), reactivity (unstable and can explode, like aerosol cans), or toxicity (harmful when ingested, like lead-based paint).

2. Listed Wastes: These are specific wastes from manufacturing and industrial processes that the EPA has officially designated as hazardous. They include byproducts from processes that use solvents, pesticides, and other chemicals.

3. Universal Wastes: These are commonly generated hazardous items that are subject to streamlined regulations. Examples include batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment (e.g., bulbs), and some lamps.

4. Mixed Wastes: This category includes waste that contains both hazardous and radioactive components, making it subject to regulation by both the EPA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

The EPA enforces hazardous waste laws and ensures people dispose of their hazardous waste responsibly. Depending on where you live, your state’s hazardous waste regulatory agency may also enforce these laws. Individually, it’s up to each household to properly dispose of their hazardous waste.

No. Standard homeowners insurance does not cover any kind of lead remediation, focusing instead on sudden, unpreventable events like fires and theft. Many insurance companies will specifically exclude lead paint removal, since it tends to be an expensive and unavoidable project. The exception is if the lead surface is damaged during a covered event (like a flood) and homeowners insurance pays its replacement.

Embarking on a kitchen demolition comes with its share of risks to keep in mind. Think of potential encounters with asbestos, sharp objects, and power tools—not to mention the peril of structures wobbling or unexpected plumbing surprises. And, of course, you will be surrounded by dust and debris throughout the process. All of the above makes safety gear necessary, or you can consider hiring a qualified professional.
