At the beginning of the week our air conditioner started to cycle on and off all the time.  It was clear that there was a problem.  The system is not quite 3 years old and didn't expect a problem but of course you never do.  I looked on Angie's List and called Morris AC and made an appointment for the upcoming Thursday.  I spoke with John and mentioned I had the Angie's List coupon.  John (a different John) came on time as scheduled on Thursday morning.  He diagnosed the problem to be most likely the power supply module. He quoted me a price for it which was under warranty from Carrier but there was still labor charges. 

Since I can't do the work myself and know nothing about this I agreed to the service since John was able to get the part the same day and have my unit up and running.  John came back later in the day and installed the new power supply module and the AC was working again. 

My only concern which I have no way of researching now is was the labor charges fair.  Having paid for a coupon through Angie's List for $55, I basically committed myself to Morris AC. That is not the concern, but since the coupon entitled me to $50 off my service, was that charge raised to cover a discount.  If not, then since the part was covered under warranty, then my labor charges were over $100/hr.  That's because the total time spent in the home was about 2 hours.

Overall I am pleased with everything but feel I overpaid somewhat.

"Tim showed up early (10:30); was not happy of the mess he walked into (previous plumbers & contractors) but took his time & figured out a way to install my new water heater without the labor & cost of redoing all the other lines. "I have always been fascinated by Solar. Always wanted to get it. It finally makes sense and is a no brained once you sit down and look at the numbers. I found 3D solar by looking through reviews on Google. I wanted to find 3 types of companies, one where the reviews emphasized price, one where reviews emphasized customer service and the last that looked like a really big outfit. I had all of them come out to quote me. The guy with the lowest price clearly made the point that he would beat anybody. The company that had a big outfit had all kinds of people calling me and was so annoying and the sales people weren’t trained as well. The company that the reviews emphasized customer service was 3-D Solar. I kept hearing the name Ryan at 3-D Solar in many of the reviews so when I reached out to 3D Solar I soecifically asked for Ryan to come to my home. To make a long story short, the best customer service I have ever received. They were a cut above and the other companies didn’t compare. This is important to me because I am going to have these panels for 25 years or more and I want a good company to help me when I need it. Since getting my system 4 months ago, I have had a couple minor hiccups, not with the solar system itself, but with the consumption meter which was wired incorrectly. They fixed it quickly and now I can record the data on my phone with accuracy. I got an 11.76 kw which is the max that you can get in a tier 1 system. I went a little bigger because we are about to build a pool and that will take more power. The cost of my first 3 bills with a complete billing cycle in the middle of the summer was 1st) $53 2nd) $21 3rd) $28. We just hit October so I am looking forward to my Bill going down as my consumption goes down. My understanding is that during the fall, and winter months when it is cooler this is when you begin to store up credits with the electric company as you produce more power with your panels than you actually use that will help offset higher consumption usage during the summer making your bills during the summer lower. It took the electric company about 60 days for everything to balance out as they put in a new meter. By your second full bill everything is straight. This company is amazing from sales to installation. Incredible. Ryan is an absolute stud!! The installers were professional and did a very clean job. The price is right where most companies will be however their service is some of the best I have ever received. I am super happy and only have one regret. I wish I would have done this 3 years ago when we first bought our house. Electricity costs increase an average of 4% year over year based on a 25 year average. After my system is paid for, I will save an estimated $60,000 over a 25 year period. That is awesome and that makes me very happy!!!"

"From the initial phone call to the office to the completion of the installation of my new heat pump, Ten Plus Service, was courteous, knowledgeable ( I couldn't get over how much Judy, the office manager knew - more than many repair people who have come to my home previously) and efficient.  Not only did they not waste my time, but more importantly they didn't waste my money.
They could have easily pushed for the repairs, so that it was done with them.  Instead they advised me what the best course to take would be, and they had no guarantees I would purchase the heat pump from them.

While they were on site, they also noticed my Navigator wasn't working correctly, and told me what the problem probably was, but as their rates were higher than many of the local pool stores, it would make more sense for me to take the cleaner locally for repairs, instead of paying them to fix it.

I did learn an important lesson from them -- in the future when I am going to buy an appliance or an automobile, I am going to ask the service department which units/cars they have performed the most repairs performed on, so I can be aware of potential future problems BEFORE I make the purchase.  The sales department or the local store is not who is going to be honest about failures (if they in fact are aware of them), they just want the sale/comission.  I had actually never realized this before how valuable the service techs are -- thanks Paul and Dexter of Ten Plus Service.
