All work is performed by Ten Plus Service employees, no sub-contractors. 30 day warranty on all repairs. Factory service center for major brands including Pentair, Rheem, Heat Siphon and Jandy. Specializing in repairs and sales of pool gas heaters (N or LP), heat pumps, control and salt/chlorination systems. They were excellent. It couldn't have been nicer. There were three guys and the guy who was the one in charge was fabulous. They called, they came on time, they were exactly on time and they did all the things that you will check out for. I have no complaints about them in anyway. I would use them again in the future.

LCD readout on the heater did not work and hence I never knew what temp the heater was trying to reach.  Paul offered me the option of a used part at half price or a brand new one at regular price.  I now can set the temp of the water without guessing, and don't have to turn the heater off when the water becomes too warm.  Visiting family is happy.  
I asked Paul about the pool pump as well.  He gave me advice on when to replace it, but did not try to find more work himself, or expense for me.

From the initial phone call to the office to the completion of the installation of my new heat pump, Ten Plus Service, was courteous, knowledgeable ( I couldn't get over how much Judy, the office manager knew - more than many repair people who have come to my home previously) and efficient.  Not only did they not waste my time, but more importantly they didn't waste my money.
They could have easily pushed for the repairs, so that it was done with them.  Instead they advised me what the best course to take would be, and they had no guarantees I would purchase the heat pump from them.

While they were on site, they also noticed my Navigator wasn't working correctly, and told me what the problem probably was, but as their rates were higher than many of the local pool stores, it would make more sense for me to take the cleaner locally for repairs, instead of paying them to fix it.

I did learn an important lesson from them -- in the future when I am going to buy an appliance or an automobile, I am going to ask the service department which units/cars they have performed the most repairs performed on, so I can be aware of potential future problems BEFORE I make the purchase.  The sales department or the local store is not who is going to be honest about failures (if they in fact are aware of them), they just want the sale/comission.  I had actually never realized this before how valuable the service techs are -- thanks Paul and Dexter of Ten Plus Service.

Judy Sarsten, the Ten Plus Services office manager, was very responsive, pleasant and professional.  The crew assigned to the job, Paul and Dexter, arrived at the time promised.  They showed me the corrosion problem (structural rupture) that precluded fixing the old unit.  When I inquired about replacement options, Paul provided well-reasoned advice about the heat pump and gas-fired alternatives.  I decided a gas-fired pool heater would be best.  Paul said the office would send me a proposal. 
Judy sent a detailed estimate the next business day, including the Angie's List discount and offering to waive the service call fee for the first visit.  The $2500 price seemed fair; it was less expensive than the old unit (purchased by a previous homeowner).  I accepted their proposal on the condition that the work would be accomplished within nine days.  Ten Plus Service made this happen.  Paul and Dexter did an excellent job installing the new unit and the new gas line needed to supply it.  They were pleasant to work with and readily answered my questions regarding various aspects of the installation.  They showed me how to operate it and how its use can be coordinated with my solar panels.  They hauled away the old unit and all trash.
Employing Ten Plus Service was a pleasure from start to finish.  The heater is working very well, as evidenced by a 5 degree Fahrenheit water temperature increase over two hours, even with the outside air temperature below 60.  I am very satisfied and will gladly hire them again.

Having a pool can produce alot of fun and alot of headaches.  Ten Plus Service allowed my family and guests to have alot of fun soon after experiencing a major headache.  My pool heater was not working with guests arriving for the holiday weekend.  I called Ten Plus Service and the girl who answered the phone  tried to help resolve the issue without needing a technician.  After walking me through a number of suggestions to try, it was determined the heater needed a professionall, so she scheduled a service tech to come out within 24 hours.

First, she explained the billing was done in 30 minute increments, which concerned me at first, as I could forsee a very expensive repair, but true to her words, the service was completed in less than 30 minutes (the average service repair for Ten Plus).

While the tech was on-site, he also looked quickly at the other pool equipment to make sure he didn't see any other problems,
which it turned out I was having, as my pool pump was leaking slightly.  He said he could do the repair or it might be less expensive to have my pool company take care of it, as it was a minor drip.

Ten Plus Service is honest, knowledgeable and courteous -- hope I never need their help again, but if I do, I will not hesitate to call them!

Years ago:
I have an older model pool heater & when the pool heater stopped working several years ago, it turned out to be the control panel.  Since this is an older pool heater, I was worried I would have to replace the entire unit.  The company had a control panel in stock and sold it to me with a great savings.  They gave me such great service and the woman who I spoke to on the phone was very friendly and very helpful.

I had  company arriving in just a few days and I wanted the pool to be warm.  I was worried it was going to be the control panel, which is expensive and possibly, I would not be able to replace it this time.  The owner of the company came out, found the problem & fixed it.  He was on time, finished in a short time and the heater has been working fine.  
I've used this company several times and they are ALWAYS very helpful.  I would highly recommend Ten Plus Service.

I have used this firm twice. Once was to replace a control panel that was under warranty - it took a couple months for them to come back and install the replacement part which I felt was excessive (thus the low "punctuality" rating). The second visit was for a relatively small issue that went quicker, but still required a second service call even though I clearly explained what was needed prior to their visit (and add'l fee, thus the low "Price" rating; and a second visit). They seem to come out to diagnose a problem, then return to install the part - with associated service call fee. I'd use them again, but only because its so difficult to find an alternative.

"The member is incorrect, there was no additional charge for not having the part on the first visit. The part needed to complete the repair was on back order from the manufacturer due to the parts being under warranty thus we were unable to complete the repair. Due to this being a "stock" item, and not what we consider a "special order" item, we do not charge customers for a follow-up completion visit. Punctuality and responsiveness were out of our control on completion of the repairs."

After calling around for estimates and information, Ten Plus was by far the most helpful and knowledgable over the phone. (Interestingly, the phone contact was in New Jersey). They recommended the least expensive of the three standard heaters as being the best bet for our salt-air beach environment. You gotta appreciate that. They also gave the best prices across the board. The local franchise (?) was a bit more casual with some details (such as the scheduling), but the job was done quickly, efficiently, and well. Ordered on Friday, installed on Tuesday. The heater was delivered with a small dent on the top but they will be replacing it at no charge. They took the time to explain things to me during installation.
