Kind of a do it all kind of person, never late always on time

At the beginning of the week our air conditioner started to cycle on and off all the time.  It was clear that there was a problem.  The system is not quite 3 years old and didn't expect a problem but of course you never do.  I looked on Angie's List and called Morris AC and made an appointment for the upcoming Thursday.  I spoke with John and mentioned I had the Angie's List coupon.  John (a different John) came on time as scheduled on Thursday morning.  He diagnosed the problem to be most likely the power supply module. He quoted me a price for it which was under warranty from Carrier but there was still labor charges. 

Since I can't do the work myself and know nothing about this I agreed to the service since John was able to get the part the same day and have my unit up and running.  John came back later in the day and installed the new power supply module and the AC was working again. 

My only concern which I have no way of researching now is was the labor charges fair.  Having paid for a coupon through Angie's List for $55, I basically committed myself to Morris AC. That is not the concern, but since the coupon entitled me to $50 off my service, was that charge raised to cover a discount.  If not, then since the part was covered under warranty, then my labor charges were over $100/hr.  That's because the total time spent in the home was about 2 hours.

Overall I am pleased with everything but feel I overpaid somewhat.

"Tim showed up early (10:30); was not happy of the mess he walked into (previous plumbers & contractors) but took his time & figured out a way to install my new water heater without the labor & cost of redoing all the other lines. Fair price; especially for a Sunday. "I met with four companies, and 3D Solar was by far the best. They were professional and on-time for the initial sales pitch. If they didn't have the answers to all of my questions right away, they got back to me quickly which was great. The whole process from start to finish (actually seeing results on your electric bill) can take four months, so be patient. Anyhow, the install went great, and 3D Solar was good about getting everything set up with the county and the electric company. Any issues or questions, and they have gotten back to me right away. I highly recommend this company for solar panels. Ask for Paul. He's very helpful!"

"This was one of the most frustrating experiences that I've had as a homeowner and a review that I write with very mixed emotions.  I will start by saying that my pool looks great and I'm overall satisfied with the work done.  However, the reason that I went with this company was the reviews on this site talked about how involved the owner was with the process and the great communication and service.  This was not my experience at all.  I don't want someone having the same experience that I did because they didn't have a counterpoint.
Shannon the owner was not involved at all.  Subcontractors did every part of the work and he didn't show up at all except to fix issues caused by poor workmanship on the pavers(they were sloping toward the pool in 3 places) and drains.  During a job like that, communication is an important factor to the homeowner.  The Pool company may have done hundreds of pools, but this is my first. We never knew when there would be work done or not and couldn't seem to get any information without repeated phone calls. When I discover an issue like the sloping of the tiles which is of major concern, I would like to be able to discuss it with the owner as the installation people tried to pull a slight of hand trick on me with a level and then exited stage right without fixing it at all.  However on most calls, I just got voicemail which normally isn't a big deal.  The problem is that to this day, neither Shannon or his salesperson John has EVER called me back.   I don't like having to chase someone to get a response.  I wouldn't say they were avoiding my calls as they were always received warmly, so maybe they just never check their voicemail.
It's been a very frustrating experience and it may be that they were busy with another job and I got lost in the shuffle.  However, my money is still green and I'd like to think that my job, small as it may be, is a little more important than I was made to feel.   
All in all, I'm pretty satisfied. The price was good, the pool looks good, their communication just stinks.
