"Roofing USA were very professional throughout. They were punctual, although the work got done a few weeks later than planned but such delays happen in this industry. They seem to have done a good job with the Gaco coating, although I did have to ask them to come back after they were done to redo a few patches that didn't get a thick enough layer. They were happy to do that. They only had to resurface part of my roof - the rest is a walkable roof deck - and they did leave many spots of Gaco on the roof deck which I had to ask them to come back and remove. I though the price was expensive but it was easily going to work out cheaper than the other two companies I contacted. They also had the least disruptive plan for working around my AC/heating unit. I got a higher bid from A+ Sustainable Coatings, and Hollywood Roofing told me I would have to hire a crane to lift that unit off the roof while they worked, which they said would be about $2500. I never did get a complete bid from them but with that extra cost I assumed it wouldn't be competitive, and I didn't think the crane was necessary. With Roofing USA, the price worked out at about $7 per square foot."

"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

"We received multiple bids for our roof and the pr icing was all over the place.  We met Steve and were impressed with his knowledge experience and professionalism.  The final price matched the estimate and we have been very pleased with the job itself, the completion of the project and the follow up after the job was finished.  I would highly recommend Steve's company.  Price wise, his prices were lower than most, but not the lowest bid.  We felt the  price was very reasonable considering the difficulty of the job (we have a high pitch roof).  As a customer, we were probably a little more demanding than most, but Steve kept us informed of the process and answered all of our questions and concerns.  We highly recommend this company.all"

"They tore off the old roof and installed a new one.  They replaced any damaged wood they came across as well.  We had a lot of rain during the project but he came on time when he told us he was going to come.  The price was very reasonable and the workers were very polite and professional.  I would recommend them to anyone that needed to have their home re-roofed."

"For the most part, Saltwater Home Resources, Inc. has been very professional and the end product shows it. The new roof looks great. The roof that I had replaced had much dry rot and corresponding damaged plywood under the shingles. The initial proposal was one price that included the replacement of all the damaged plywood. I knew what I was going to have to pay before the work was even started because of the thorough inspection of the roof  before the proposal was submitted to me. I was impressed with the fact that they did not scrimp on materials. After the underlayment was put on a rainstorm ensued and even without the shingles installed, the roof didn't leak. The nice looking shingles were the icing on the cake. Of course only time will tell how long the roof will last but all things considered, I'm confident that I am in for many years with a roof that will protect the rest of the house from the ravages of the harsh Florida weather.

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

Smooth galvanized metal ducting is best and safest for venting a hood range. It’s best to avoid flexible and corrugated types of ducting, as these options don’t provide ample airflow and may not meet local code. For specific advice on which type of duct might be best for your kitchen, reach out to a range hood installation professional.

You should contact a local range hood installation professional to install your range hood and do the ductwork. Prices range from $50 to $100 per hour, with the total number of hours required varying based on the project complexity. Simple installations might take an hour or two, while more complicated ones can take four hours or more.

Neglected maintenance can lead to odors, fire hazards, impaired airflow, and reduced range and hood operation efficiency.

If a range hood has minor issues, the average repair costs $85 to $210. This accounts for both parts and labor. More extensive damage can cost as much as $300 to $500, at which point it may be worth considering completely replacing the range hood.

Most residential range hoods have a CFM between 200 and 600. A higher CFM means your range hood is better at removing smoke and odors from your kitchen. The measurement ultimately depends on your stove’s width and heat output as well as the size of your kitchen.

Compared to the average size of a stove and kitchen, 350 CFM would be the minimum recommended rating for the average kitchen. However, selecting a higher CFM range hood would guarantee better ventilation to match your cooking habits, whether they’re minimal or extensive.
