"We recently selected Tiger Team to install our new roof. They demostrated to be very profesional and responsible. At the beginning, the office staff always informed me of every step involved in getting the permit approval from the City of Cooper City. Gary, as the owner, always was available to answer my questions at any time. The crew , supervisors and those responsible for delivering the materials at the job site worked syncronized, as a real team. Last but not least, no money was required to pay up front! I recomended Tiger team to all my friends and I will not hesitate to contact this company again to install a new roof in the future as well. We had a very good experience. Thank you Gary!"

"From start to finish, J&K was excellent. Scheduling was a breeze. They sent 3 highly experienced people to perform the job. No other company wanted to repair a leak, and all said I needed a new roof. J&K was honest and advised that the roof had many years of life left, and not only fixed the leak, but warranted their work, which means they stand behind it. When I do need a new roof, they will be on my short list of companies that I call. Honest company with lots of integrity.."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Most manufacturers’ warranties do not cover wind damage to roof shingles, but some companies include a wind warranty rider in their warranty offer. You can purchase this rider to protect yourself, your wallet, and your roof from any damage that might occur from wind. Be sure to read all the fine print and understand any limitations of the warranty.

Roof vents are an essential part of a roof, as they promote energy efficiency by keeping warm, humid air at bay. The roofing material, especially asphalt shingles, will not last as long as it should (about half of its manufacture life) if the attic is not ventilated. Also, going without ventilation means having a warm attic that demands more from your air conditioning system (and your wallet, once the bills come). Ridge vents and roof vents also prevent a host of other icky moisture-related problems like rot, mold, and mildew.

It’s the reverse of home de-winterization. To winterize, you purge your plumbing system (including your water heater and all piping) of water. Some experts also recommend filling fixtures with an antifreeze solution. Other tasks involve winterizing sprinklers, sealing foundation vents, check weatherproofing around doors and windows, and more.

As with any roofing material, there are benefits and drawbacks to consider before installing roll roofing. On the plus side, roll roofing is budget-friendly, lightweight, and comparatively easy to install. It is also ideal for low-sloped roofs and lasts around 10 years. The cons of roll roofing, however, include its low durability compared to roofing materials, restricted color choices, and low ROI.

Pros:

  • Low-cost

  • Lightweight

  • Cut to size

  • Easy and quick installation

  • Designed for low-sloped roofs

  • Waterproofs your roof for an average of 10 years

  • Easy to purchase and transport

Cons:

  • Less durable than asphalt shingles

  • More prone to cracks and tears

  • Short life span

  • Not as many color or style choices

  • Not as aesthetically pleasing as shingles, wood, or clay tiles

  • Not preferred for a higher home resale value

Chimney crowns are located above the final brick layer at the top of a chimney. It’s important to get regular chimney maintenance and inspection, because it is near impossible to spot chimney crown damage without getting on your roof.
