"Steve gave us an estimate and when we called Advantage Roofing they said they could repair the roof the next day! We agreed and he cane out as expected and even gave us before and after pictures. We were very pleased and will plan on using them in the future. His price was very fair and we got several estimates!"

"Excellent!! Gary Chester came to our home. He gave us a quote. Of course the amount of wood damage could not be 100% estimated until all the tile was removed. There was a little more damage than what we had estimated. Other than that, everything was spot on. The workers showed up on time every day when they left, the worksite was perfectly clean. The job was completed as promised. It has been five years the roof is holding up beautifully. We recently had the roof inspected a few tiles had been damaged by falling limbs from an overhanging oak tree. They were replaced. I have no hesitation recommending Gary Chester and his crew at Tiger Team to my family and friends."

"Our experience with City Roofing was excellent from start to finish. Very professional staff and hard working roof crew. They worked with us from the selection of our roof, water resistant material, inspection process and final miami-dade approval. They answered promptly any questions we had. Excellent quality of work and we are very happy with our roof."

"From start to finish, J&K was excellent. Scheduling was a breeze. They sent 3 highly experienced people to perform the job. No other company wanted to repair a leak, and all said I needed a new roof. J&K was honest and advised that the roof had many years of life left, and not only fixed the leak, but warranted their work, which means they stand behind it. When I do need a new roof, they will be on my short list of companies that I call. Honest company with lots of integrity.."

"I wanted to take this opportunity to thank our roofing contractor, Ivan Rodriguez, for doing an outstanding job on our new roof. After speaking with several roofing contractors, my gut told me that Ivan from T & E Roofing was the right choice—not only because of his extensive knowledge of the roofing industry, but also because he proved to be professional, honest, ethical, and genuinely a good human being. He made the entire process run seamlessly. I highly recommend him if you are looking to replace your roof. He has the knowledge, experience, a great team, and very fair pricing."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can walk on torch down roofing. It is durable and tear-resistant enough to handle that kind of low-level wear. Remember that torch down roofing can get uncomfortably hot in certain climates. Dark roofing absorbs heat and can burn bare feet. If you want to use a roof deck for lounging, you may want to install a lighter-colored PVC membrane.

Yes, replacing a roof is always a good investment if the current one is in poor condition. Not only will it preserve the structural integrity of the home, but it can also add value at the time of sale. The average return on investment for a new roof is between 48% and 61%. Prospective buyers are also more likely to purchase a home with a recently replaced roof since that means they won’t need to worry about that expense in the near future.

A gable roof with steep pitches covered in asphalt shingles or wood shakes is the most popular roof for Cape Cod homes. Asphalt shingles started gaining popularity in the early 1900s, so wood shake roofs, which were popular in the 1700s when Cape Cod homes were first built, are the traditional option. You can further modernize your Cape Cod home by raising the roof in the front, back, or both to add living space and change up the traditional single-gable roof with doghouse dormers.

Flapping shingles, or shingles that are lifting or curling away from your roof, can be glued back into place using roofing cement or sealant. Apply the glue underneath the shingle, then press it down firmly. You can leave a brick on top of the shingle to hold it in place overnight while the sealant dries.

Whether a metal or shingle roof is better for you depends on your preferences. Standing seam metal roofs require little to no maintenance, but if you install a screw-down metal roof where the fasteners are exposed, the gaskets on the fasteners will dry rot and need to be replaced. Generally, screw-down metal roofs need to be re-screwed every 15 to 20 years.

Metal roofs are energy-efficient and have extended warranties, while asphalt shingles are less durable than most. They tend to lose color and get damaged over time, and absorb heat from the sun.
