  In the morning I found that my fridge went out. I called around because I did not know anyone who did that kind of work. I finally agreed to let Bruce come by. He showed up very quick, considering it was a Saturday. I knew what the problem was with my fridge and explained to him what it was. I did not know how to correct the problem which is why I had to call someone. All the information I found was on Google, so I had no idea how to fix the problem, but I had a good idea what the problem was. As soon as Bruce came in, I knew I found someone good. He was very professional and super nice. I explained what I think was wrong, and and he got right to it. He fixed the problem within 15 minutes. It turned out that the problem was an easy fix and he fixed exactly that I found online. He did not try to charge me for anything else and only fixed what was wrong.   This company doesn't advertise and I just put a random zip code since I don't know theirs. I got their number from a friend who had recommended them and I am SO glad I did. They came out and told us that they don't charge us unless they can fix the problem. Our problem happened to be that the fan wasn't working. It also happened that they had a used fan that they could replace it with and they replaced it with the used one and charged us $60. Two other companies in town had told us that we needed to replace the unit. Tim and his brother own the company. Tim is the one who came out. He said that it's very very common for the big companies to try and just sell you a unit instead of fixing it. Not only that, the two companies had quoted us over $400 for just the cost of replacing the fan if we were to do thatshow more

  After a horrible experience with another provider we called Mr. Rooter to see when they would be able to come out to do a dishwasher installation. The staff member who answered the phone was quite friendly, sympathetic, and very professional. We were able to get the service scheduled for the next day. The service professional was very competent and also very personable. He explained what he was doing and gave a couple of options to resolve the issue. He had to leave to get a part, but was back promptly and completed the installation without any problems. The price of the installation was higher than the first provider, but that provider is booked through an appliance store and probably does the work for a discount to get the business.   I want everyone to know that Suburban is one of the only service providers for Viking gas ovens in the Tallahassee area. I called the vendor who sold us the oven 12 years ago, and they gave me service names that no longer worked on Viking products. I called Vikingand quot;s Atlanta headquarters and asked who serviced their Viking ovens in Tallahassee. I was given 2 names that never returned my calls. So, I called Suburban Propane to ask who they would suggest as service providers and I learned that they have a service department within the Suburban Propane Company in Tallahassee. I had an appointment within 2 days of calling. The service men diagnosed the problem, order the parts and were back in 5 days to install! Excellent serviceshow more

  I bought a used refrigerator that was worth well over $1200 for about $500. We thought had a real bargain until, shortly after getting it home, the solenoid went bad shortly that pushes cold air from the freezer into the refrigerator portion. Mr. Smith got in and fixed it within two hours, most of the time spent defrosting the freezer with a hair dryer. If I had thought to do it, he could have got in and out in thirty minutes.   The retractable cord on our vacuum cleaner was stuck and would not release. Try as I might using every tool imaginable, we could not get it loose. I remembered seeing this vacuum repair store next to a restaurant we like to frequent, so decided I would take the vacuum in to see if the could release the cord. I took it in on a Saturday afternoon. The gentlemen in the store (sorry, but I can't remember his name) also tried to get the cord loose by pulling on it. When it still wouldn't release he said that he would try to get the vacuum body open and fix it. I left it with him. He called me Monday morning saying that he was able to repair it. I'm not sure how much this type of repair normally costs, as I have never had a vacuum cleaner repaired, but it seemed reasonable as he said it was difficult to remove the case from the body of the vacuum. I was happy to get my vacuum back and it was a pleasant experienceshow more

  Mr. Mulford arrived on time to diagnose my problem with my microwave. I was prepared to pay a $65.00 service call which I thought was a little high considering I had already diagnosed the problem but just didn't know how to fix it or where to order the parts to fix it. I had used Mr. Mulford previously to repair my refrigerator and was satisfied so I trusted his work. Upon Mr. Mulford's arrival, he diagnosed the same problem that I had diagnosed but did not have the parts to repair it, which I expected. On the phone he had told me that the parts were additional to the $65.00 diagnostic fee, which I also expected. In the 2 minute diagnostic process, Mr. Mulford broke an additional part in the process of disassembling the microwave door, which I do understand that accidents happen, but if I broke a customer's property in my job, I would be responsible for replacing it. Once Mr. Mulford diagnosed the problem and ordered the parts, he advised that the 2 parts (the one I originally needed and the one he broke) would be $65.00 more. I decided that for $130.00, I could buy another microwave and sell this one for parts. I advised Mr. Mulford that I was not going to move forward on the repair. I then paid him $65.00 for his diagnosis and further damaging the microwave. Mr. Mulford never even offered to deduct the cost of the part he broke. I now know why. I contacted Samsung to see if I could order parts from them and fix the microwave myself. They directed me to a website where I purchased the 2 parts for less than $10.00 or $15.00 with shipping. Also the 3-4 weeks that I was told I would have to wait for the parts will be at my doorstep in 3-5 business days. I can appreciate a person making money on what they do for a living, but it doesn't have to be done all on 1 customer. I deal with alot of homeowners in my profession and have prior to this incident referred Mr. Mulford; however, after this experience that will no longer be the case. You made $65.00 for 5 minutes of work then were going to charge me another $50.00 to come back and spend 5 more minutes. I wish you much success in your business but I promise your success will no longer be because of meshow more

  We had purchased several microwaves, refrigerators, a bed, etc., over the last 20 years from Mays Monroe and while the prices were never competitive, their service had always been great-including repairs. Prior services had been right at the store, but May Monroe moved their service facilty to another building across the street and it is no longer physically in the store. I purchased a GE Convection microwave last December and one day the microwave just went out. I took this microwave to their repair center around 9/13/12 to be serviced. I was informed they would call me back and let me know what was going on. Almost a week later, I get a call saying the main board went bad and a new one would have to be ordered. Another week goes by, I don't hear from them. I call back and Mays Monroe informed me the part is in and I should have my microwave by the end of the week (9/26). I don't hear from them by the end of the week. I call back again (10/3) and I was informed the wrong part was ordered and they had to reorder the right part which should be in this week. and quot;Ok, I need a microwave because you guys have had it for almost 3 weeks. (very rudely) You part has been ordered and you should have your microwave by the end of the week.and quot; I didn't want to get into an arguement over the phone because the person is only hired help. I can tell readers this is my absolute last product to be purchased from Mays Monroe. The service is no where what it use to be and I hate to inform Mays Monroe they are not the only game players in town. I can get the same level of lousy service from their competitors and at least save some moneyshow more
