"The gentleman was very professional and easy to work with. In this instance it was furniture assembly, but he also assisted in other tasks and demonstrated knowledge of many areas of expertise. The experience was very positive and I look forward to using his services in the future, as well as, recommending his services to others."

"Eddie, the manager and Jason, the service tech were absolutely amazing! The response time was astounding and even though I was a decent drive away for them, they showed up on time and did a great job repairing my washing machine. I would highly recommend this company and I will definitely be using them again myself. Very polite, meticulous about being in your home and generally just good guys!"

"Rock Bottom is the well named. When another contractor provided a lower bid Greg agreed to match it. He and his men did an excellent job painting the exterior of my home. They repaired cracks in the stucco and reattached loose siding. They also worked VERY quietly. During the day they left for lunch and I never knew they were gone! What impressed me most was that these guys worked from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm and never even asked to use the restroom. When I asked Greg about it at the end of the day he said, "Its because we're considerate." You don't find that sort of respect for your home and privacy every day. Two thumbs way up!"

Small Appliance Repair FAQs, answered by experts

Whether or not it’s safe to use a buzzing microwave depends on what’s causing the noise. If a loose fastener or a dirty cooling fan is the underlying issue, it’s safe to use your microwave, although you may do damage to the fan motor if you don’t clean the blades first. If the issue is stemming from something else, you could do further damage to your appliance and potentially even start a house fire if you don’t repair it before continued use. If the microwave is buzzing when not in use, shut the power and call an emergency electrician, as this could lead to a fire.

Clean regularly, avoid metal utensils, and inspect seals for wear to ensure efficiency.

The magnetron and the transformer are typically the most expensive parts of a microwave. Replacing a magnetron can cost anywhere between $100 and $200, depending on the make and model of the microwave, and replacing a transformer costs between $100 and $300. When these parts fail, it’s often preferred to simply replace the microwave entirely.

If your microwave is on the fritz and you suspect the fuse has blown, you can check it to confirm it’s the source of the problem. Start by disassembling the panel and carefully checking the fuse filament or ceramic components. If your microwave uses a glass fuse, you’ll likely see discoloration and a melted filament. If your microwave contains a ceramic fuse, you’ll need to use a multimeter continuity tester to check if there’s continuity.

Although some oven doors have screws in them that hold the handle or the glass in place, you should not remove these screws. Your oven’s hinges should pull loose without the need to remove the screws. If you are repairing your oven door, though, you may need to remove some screws.
