"Our install was difficult, but went very well. I had hired Bowen to service our existing 15 -20 year old unit, and they helped us keep it running for 3 years until we eventually had to bite the bullet. They replaced the unit with a much more efficient York unit with a 10 year parts and labor warranty for a very fair price. They had to manage through a narrow attic access, but got the job done and we could not be happier. The owners and technicians consistently provided honest answers and met their commitments (time and price), and we would highly recommend them. Finding a small business owner that really understands customer service can be a challenge at times, but we got lucky 3 years ago, and i am glad we started this relationship."

"Mike spent about 2 hrs finding the cause and corrected the problem. He gave me some tips on maintenance. He was very polite and did not pressure me into buying parts and service. He was a great guy. He even came back in 2 days to install a P trap with no charge .

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Common problems include leaks, low pressure, and inefficient heating. Regular maintenance prevents many issues.

Costs range from $3,000 to $7,500, depending on system size and efficiency.

It takes about five to 10 minutes for heat to reach a radiator, then about one hour until the radiator fully heats up a room. The exact duration depends on the size of the room and how far away the radiator is from the boiler heating system. Heating up an entire house could take up to two hours.

The best time of year to purchase or replace an HVAC system, including components like an air conditioner or furnace, is during the off-season—spring and fall. During these periods, HVAC professionals are less busy than in summer and winter, when extreme temperatures create urgent demand. Shopping during the off-season can lead to savings of 10% to 15% on an AC unit and allows you more time to find the best deal and other cost-saving incentives. Typically, air conditioning units go on sale in the fall after demand drops, while furnace prices tend to decrease in the spring.

Generally, an oil furnace is considered safer than a gas furnace for several reasons. While both types of furnaces can produce carbon monoxide, a leak in an oil furnace is easier to detect due to the smell. Oil furnaces also don't connect to a gas pipeline, which reduces the chance of a fuel leak. Most importantly, heating oil is not combustible, whereas natural gas is highly flammable. This means there is a much lower risk of combustion or explosion with an oil furnace. However, an oil furnace can still pose a fire hazard if it tips over.
