"I only provide a review when the service provider exceeds my expectations. In this instance, Carlos from CEM Pest Control reached the mark! From my first contact call with him to the completion of the job- he was knowledgeable, professional and understanding. The job entailed an all out extermination of a bedbug infestation in my son's room. Carlos responded quickly, came to the house that same day for a consult, and shared the prep steps I needed to take to ready the house for the extermination. Two days later he showed up ready to combat the "enemy"! He was informative, diligent and efficacious. Within 5 hours he performed multiple exterminations to address the situation. After an exhausting 2 days of washing, drying clothes, and all fabrics in the house and sealing everything in plastic bags to prep and now in the process of unpacking ...I am at peace! I have CEM Pest Control's 6 months guarantee- should the situation re-emerge, and I have employed the company to perform monthly pest inspection and extermination. I would highly recommend CEM Pest Control for all of your challenging and ordinary pest control needs. Professional, Integral and a Cost-effective."

"I just had them carefully remove a mother raccoon and 3 babies from my roof in West Boca. I couldn’t be happier with the safety of me and the animals, how professional, caring, and open and honest communication I got from Ethan! I would most definitely use his company again, and highly recommend it!"

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Some animals, such as bats or birds, will be able to get out of chimneys on their own since they can fly. Other animals, however, may have a harder time and will require the help of a professional to escape. Squirrels and raccoons in particular may become stuck inside a chimney, especially if you have a buildup of soot or creosote inside. This can prevent them from being able to climb out, in which case you’ll need to call an animal control expert to help remove them.

Most DIY roach fogger products are made of pyrethroid pesticides that come with their own unique risks and benefits. They also contain aerosol propellants that disperse the pesticides by creating a fog that fills the entire room. Read all labels carefully before purchasing a fogger product to ensure that you understand how to properly handle the ingredients that you are introducing into your home.

Many brownish housebound arachnids could be mistaken for hobo or wolf spiders, including nursery web spiders. An easy way to classify is to look for traditional spider webs, as neither hobos nor wolves participate in this practice.

Moles live underground and feed on insects. They dig and move through tunnels, usually in meadows or forests but sometimes in lawns and gardens. They are about 6 inches long with large claws, tiny eyes, and hidden ears.

Shrews do not dig their own tunnels but will use other animals’ tunnels, and are about 3 to 4 inches long. They look similar to mice and feed on insects.

Voles are similar in size to moles but have large eyes and small but visible ears. Rather than eating insects, voles are herbivores that prefer seeds, grasses, and plant roots.

A rodent infestation often has a distinctive, unpleasant smell. The most common odor is a strong, musky scent, similar to stale ammonia, which comes from mouse urine. As the infestation grows, the smell can become more intense. You might also notice a foul, decomposing odor if mice or rats die inside the walls or hidden areas. This combination of smells is a clear sign of a rodent problem and should prompt immediate action to address the infestation.
