"South Cooling provided an exceptional service. Technicians arrived on time and were able to fix the issues of concern in a timely fashion. I would recommend this company to whomever needs their AC fixed. Prices were also very reasonable in comparison to other quotes I received. I was very pleased with the overall service(s)."

"Roly was professional, courteous and gave me a new understanding of how my unit works. Others in the past that have serviced our A/c unit weren't even close to capabilities. He basically went from top to bottom and took photos of the issues he found along the way. he provided various levels of estimates for my budget and explained my system to me as no other company had bothered to do. I will be getting a yearly contract with them and in the near future choosing one of the services to he recommended to keep my unit going for another 10 years. I was very happy with the fact he put on booties when entering the house and kept everything clean while working. I cannot say enough great things about the experience. Just that I will continue to use their services.

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

On average, you’ll need about two gallons of oil per day to heat your house when it’s 50 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Most oil tank capacity is about 275 gallons, and heating your house with two gallons of oil per day will last about four and a half months. This consumption will vary depending on the climate and average temperature in your location. For example, if the winters are longer and colder where you live, you’ll probably need to refill your oil tank at least once to get through the winter.

Hydronic and standard electric baseboard heaters differ in how they operate, their cost, and their performance. Standard convection heaters use electric coils to heat the air directly, while hydronic heaters warm a contained liquid like water or oil, which then radiates heat into the room.

In terms of cost and efficiency, hydronic heaters usually have a higher upfront price but are more energy-efficient and cheaper to run over time. This is because the heated liquid retains warmth, allowing the heater to continue providing heat for a while after the thermostat turns it off. In contrast, electric heaters provide heat more quickly but are less efficient.

Ultimately, the better choice depends on your priorities. If you need a room to heat up fast and have a lower initial budget, an electric heater might be suitable. If long-term energy savings are more important and you don't mind a slower heat-up time, a hydronic heater is likely the better option.

Yes, most municipalities require a permit for propane boiler installation to ensure safety and code compliance. Permit fees vary by location and are often included in your installer’s quote, as they’ll handle the permitting process. Ensure that you always check local regulations before starting your project to avoid fines or delays.

The radiators closest in proximity to the boiler heating system will heat up first. Radiators in rooms farther away from the boiler will take longer to heat up and may be the coolest rooms in the house. The radiator unit itself should heat up evenly; otherwise, there may be trapped air inside it.

Probably not. Moving a boiler to a new location is a very different prospect from replacing it in the same spot, and significantly more expensive. Plus, boilers are typically carefully positioned in proximity to pipes and radiators when installed. Homeowners may want to move boilers to free up space, prevent freezing problems that have happened in winter, or solve a noise issue—but it’s a much more costly proposition.
