"They arrived early for my appointment, such a pleasant surprise! I had 2 ceiling fans that had to be put together and installed in a tall ceilingsâ ¦no problem for them ð . They were professional and got right to work. They were respectful of the property and when they finished they cleaned up and took away the old fans. I will absolutely hire Orion again. "Ken found that our AC had a lot of mold which was impacting the air flow through our ducts. He made several suggestions, cleaned the system and installed ultra violet items to mitigate the mold and keep the ducts clean. He was extremely easy to understand and showed us everything that he did. He also did a few minor fixes on our vents. I would definitely use them again."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Buying a house is easier than building one from scratch. Buying an existing home is almost always faster, even if you need to make renovations once you move in. When you hire the right team to build a home, they will simplify the design and build phases so that there is little guesswork throughout the process, but building new construction will almost always take longer than buying an existing home.

Costs depend on material, size, design complexity, and additional features like lighting or seating.

How long it takes to build an in-law suite will vary by type. The time it takes to build an addition will typically be less than for completely new construction. Expect to spend about two months if you convert a basement, attic, or other existing room in your home. New structures can take up to five months, plus up to two months to receive the required permits.

The cost to draw house plans typically ranges from $800 to $2,700, with standard blueprints averaging around $1,800. For a custom home, the cost is higher, with blueprints often falling between $5,000 and $20,000, and potentially more for very complex designs. Several factors influence the total price, including the project's size, the number of rooms, the type of drawings required, and the architect's experience level. You may also need to pay a structural engineer to ensure building safety, particularly for custom homes.

Builder-grade is one of two types of stock cabinets, whereas semi-custom designs allow homeowners some control over the color, finish, or hardware on their cabinets. Stock cabinets are sold in construction-grade and builder-grade designs. Construction-grade cabinets are usually made from inexpensive medium-density fiberboard, which is prone to moisture damage, whereas builder-grade models are a step up with higher-quality materials. Construction-grade designs are the most common type of cabinets in America.
