"You will get a solid commitment when selecting this Architect. Resourceful, knowledgeable, responsive & very excited about making sure the end result is what you want. We are in our final stages and are so grateful to work with Mitch and his team. We can’t wait to have a finished project we call home. If it wasn’t for all the input, patience & ideas that JWB brought to the table we wouldn’t be thus far. More to come!!!"

"l called a builder from Angie's List to see about enclosing the lanai.  It already has the inside walls and ceiling so I figured it would be easy to just put the one wall with windows and doors on to close off the lanai from the pool.  However, the builder said I was outside of his area, but that I needed an architect to draw up plans.  He said this is a requirement of my county and they are very strict.  He said he had completed a few projects that Sean had designed, and he was very pleased with his work.  He recommended Sean and provided the contact information.
I called Sean and he was very prompt with scheduling an appointment to see the area and talk with me about my expectations.  We e-mailed back and forth about questions and concerns.   He provided two preliminary drawings and highlighted the advantages of each design.  I could have gone with either design.  They both complemented and added to the back of the house.
Right after he completed the lanai design, he started work on designing the structure that would have a chicken coop at ground level and a large room upstairs.  Again, we communicated mainly via e-mail.  He came back with two preliminary drawings that took me hours to decide which one would be selected.  The designs are incredible.  In fact, he again went over each and helped me make the final choice.  He listened to all my concerns.  When it was in the final stage and I had basically approved the design, it dawned on me I wanted one solid wall for floor to ceiling bookshelves.  I was concerned it would impact the design and it was at the final stage.  However, Sean said he could see my point and it was a great suggestion.  Every e-mail and conversation with him was pleasant.  He is very easy to do business with and paid attention to what I was looking for in the building.  Even though he has completed his work, he has already contacted me to see if the selected builder has any questions or concerns.  I am well-pleased with all of Sean's work.

"Charles took on this job the week before Christmas and made a huge effort to get three rooms painted and all cabinets installed before the holiday. He does good work and is honest and pleasant to deal with. I've recommended him to friends and will hire him again soon."

Architects questions, answered by experts

Regular meetings, reviewing drafts, and providing input on materials help align the project with your vision.

Universal design is a design concept that states that products, spaces, and general environments are designed to be used by everyone, with an emphasis on accessibility for those with limited mobility or other special needs.

With proper training and experience, reading blueprints is fairly straightforward and not very difficult. If you don’t have the necessary knowledge to interpret the symbols, abbreviations, and other notations used, blueprints may not make sense. Learning to read blueprints can help you understand the construction process and keep you more involved and informed when you’re building a house.

Whether you’re building a new home or building an extension on your existing property, you will likely need both a structural engineer and an architect. A structural engineer will determine what loads your foundation and framing can safely handle, and an architect will draw plans according to those structural calculations to simplify the building process. You can start by contacting a structural engineer near you, as many work alongside architects and can get all of the prep work done at once.

Architects bring expertise in spatial design, efficiency, aesthetics, and safety, translating complex needs into feasible, regulatory-compliant design plans.
