"JWB Architects were super! Professional...helpful...state of the art and very responsive. Turns out my project was too small but they helped me with design ideas and were great to work with! If my needs ever required an architect, i'd call them before anyone else!"

"Eugene, Mary and their kids are awesome. They were very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. We told them what we wanted and they created a beautiful design. After agreeing to the design they were thorough and efficient in completing the work. They are the best landscapers we have ever worked with."

"After unsuccessful attempts to communicate and obtain quotes from 3 other landscaping companies, I hired Ryan's All-in-one on the spot after meeting Tanner and discussing my project needs. He was able to work with my Monday-Friday schedule and give an estimate within days. He is very professional and knowledgeable and offered several options to work with my budget limitations. His crew were very nice and efficient; the 5 total workers (including Tanner) finished the job within a day. I had 2 trees removed, new soil/mulch added, and 45+ plants/shrubs planted. They also used high quality weed control material as that was an issue with my previous landscaping. Would recommend and hire again for future needs."

Architects questions, answered by experts

It is technically possible to draw your own blueprints, but the process is extremely involved and really demands help from an expert. A professional architect has an understanding of design elements, interior design, the functionality of different rooms in a home, and how everything from furniture, outlets, and light switches should be laid out to serve you and your family best. Hiring an architect for blueprints can get expensive, but it’s the most responsible way to begin a new construction project. If you’re keen on DIYing, you could consider starting the process and then having a professional take over.

Finding an architect for your project demands looking at the professional’s past work, speaking with prior clients to see what their experience was like, and discussing your project and vision with the expert to see what kind of input they have. Look for an architect that gets excited about your project or has experience with similar projects.

The most common scale for residential blueprints is 1/4 of an inch equals one foot. This scale is the most popular because it’s easier for everyone involved, from professionals to homeowners, to understand the building’s actual dimensions. Also, it allows blueprints to have the necessary details without cluttering the page.

In most cases, you should get an architect before you hire a builder. An architect will be the one to draw up formal plans for your project, including guidelines and even material lists for your builder to follow during construction. Many architects can even help you find builders, choose one for your project, and negotiate prices. Some are also willing to act as project managers throughout the process, working closely with a builder from start to finish.

The country's most famous Neoclassical architecture appears in major government buildings and college campuses. The White House is unmistakably the most famous example, though the Capitol Building and Thomas Jefferson's Monticello are also iconic uses of the design.
