I am happy to recommend Paul and Cyndi Caruso of Corban Construction to execute your next construction project. They have just completed enclosing our previously screened lanai. The project was completed professionally and looks great. The professionalism starts with the very comprehensive detailed bid package. We interviewed several contractors and received bid packages which were illegible, not very specific and didn’t do the amount of work Corban was going to do. Paul’s sale was not high pressure, but just very matter of fact – “here’s what we’re going to do and here’s the cost.” The slowest part of the project was getting through the design drawing and then permitting. Once that portion was completed and subs started getting on site then things moved much better. (Note, when you are considering a project make sure you take into account major holidays where workers have time off. This is not unique to Corban, but is a consideration when dealing with any tradesmen. ) Paul did a wonderful job of communicating the time line on the project and what was going to happen daily through the process. We knew what was going to happen in the week and if changes occurred he promptly updated the work schedule. Whenever work was underway he would stop by sometime during the work to observe and answer questions. His subs were professional as well. If issues surfaced or work was not satisfactorily completed, Paul made sure it was completed satisfactorily. In total, this was a remodeling project which went very well and looks absolutely spectacular.

Corban Construction just finished a beautiful bedroom/bathroom addition for my father who is coming to live with me. The addition looks like it was part of the original house. Everything blends in perfectly. Paul and his crew were great. All of his workers were very courteous and friendly and always cleaned up after themselves. Paul went above and beyond - even checking on my family after the hurricane and repairing a leaking roof vent pipe that was not part of the addition. I would hire him again and recommend Corban to others.

Corban Construction definitely deserves a negative rating. I have trouble finding sufficient negative words to describe this absolutely horrible contractor. He has taken more than seven months to build a simple four post pavilion which should have been at most 30 days job. His knowledge about basic structural requirements is grossly lacking as evidenced by failing the building inspection. He is a phony in customer relations. He continues to delay, delay, delay for any minor excuse. He is also a phony contractor. Don’t be fooled by his so called state credentials. I have pondered as to how he got a contractor’s license. When you hear the name Corban Construction Company, run, run, at break-neck speed away from this company. This customer and writer had to stay on his back 24/7 else the job would never gotten done. Here are the facts: I first talked to him about the project in early August 2016. My first appointment with him was on August 14, 2016. He returned on August 31, 2016 with a proposal for a roughly 18’ x 18’ pavilion. The proposal was acceptable. I paid him one-third of the proposed amount. I asked him when he would have the job done. He answered, “I should have everything together in a month.” The actual work on this very simple project should take about five or six work days. September came and went, half of October came and went. Then I called him to find out why he hadn’t finished my job. Regretfully, he had a death in the family and I excused him for his delay to date. October came and went. No work was done. November came and went. No work was done. December was half over and no work was done. So, I called him. He said that he would start the project that week. He showed up December 28, 2016 and poured the foundation which was only four 16” deep and 12” x 12” wide holes in the ground…about a two hour job. The company didn’t even build a form for the foundation. Instead, he just allowed the concrete to spill out for two or three feet from the intended foundation. The overspill was three or four inches deep. Finally, he had the basic structure up on January 10, 2017 and called the building inspector for the structural portion. It failed inspection because the basic structure didn’t comply with the architect’s drawings. There were no knee braces which any novice knows is a must for a structure like this! The roof was so bad he failed inspection also. The company had to remove portions of it and start over. We asked him when he would finish the job. He said it would be the end of the month. January came and went, still not finished. I reminded him that we missed using the facility for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, my birthday, and my wife’s birthday. We missed using the facility for all those special days, so I asked him if he can please have it ready for the Super Bowl (February 5, 2017). He said would “have it done by the end of the month (January 31, 2017). Finally on March 24, 2017 the job was had the final inspection. Elapsed time: August 14, 2016 until March 24, 2017 or seven months and 10 days. The finished product is totally lacking in workmanship and it appears that “the craftsman used a dull axe.” The building inspector tells me that there is no recourse for poor workmanship. Avoid Corban Construction Company. I cannot find one thing in which to compliment them.

They were prompt, the job got done when they said it would get done and in the time allotted for the job. I thought that the work that was done was excellent. There was no problem with the job at all.
Description of Work: The company that did the job was Corban Construction. They removed a couple of columns in the dining room and some falling ceiling wall that was up there. Then they repaired the drywall and repaired the ceiling when they took down the structure.
