"Mike was the best we've experienced. 27 year old HVAC units went on the fritz Sat, he came out Sunday and installed Monday. We didn't even need any other estimates, and we AlWAYS get 2 or 3. Fair price, great product and service and super fast responses. From the owner of a 29 year old established contractor! Do not hesitate, hire Mike."

"Don Lonski of Lawson Home Services came to our home to clean our dryer duct and the back of our dryer. My goodness he was absolutely wonderful. The last Teck that came refused to open the back of our dryer and clean the lint. He claimed it was not necessary to open the Flexible Vent Hose to remove all the line. After a few years our dryer was not very hot. Clothes were still damp. So, I just stopped using my dryer and hung everything on all the doors. I was afraid of a fire. Saved money on the electric bill; but I needed my dryer back. We want to tell you that Don Lonski checked everything and he said you must always remove the Flexible Vent Hose and clean in the back of the dryer. And it should be done once every year. Not only that Don Lonski went into our crawl space and found our metal duck work was improperly installed. Instead of using the metal the whole 20 feet, they used 15 feet of metal and used the Flexible Vent Hose at both ends and did a terrible job of taping as a result we had major leakage. Don Lonski said he will return when the office schedules him and he will do the job correctly. Don was very professional, ever so pleasant and extremely knowledgeable. Don Lonski really took his time to explain all the problems we had. We are so grateful that we ended up with a great guy. Please schedule Don Lonski to return to complete our job completely. "Angi Reviews will not allow me to edit a previus review for this Contractor, I wanted to update that Patsi's crew did show up, were professional, gave a fair and competitive bid and are quick to start the work. So far I would give them a five stars for responding, calling and following through."

"During this very cold winter, I wanted my HVAC system checked out, esp after the fan were frozen in place before being de-iced by me. The service person was great. He checked my system and was able to answer my questions. Thank you."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

To reset your air conditioner, start by turning it off at the thermostat. Then, shut off power to the AC system at the circuit breaker. Some units have a dedicated "reset" button; if yours does, press and hold it for three to five seconds. If your air conditioner doesn't have a reset button, or if you are resetting it after a power outage, leave the circuit breaker off for at least 30 minutes to allow the system to reset itself. Afterward, turn the power back on at the breaker, turn on the AC from the thermostat, and set it to "cool" to test the system.

Yes, mini split systems cool equally as well as central air. While a central system circulates air throughout the entire home at the same temperature, a mini split system allows each room to be cooled or heated at different temperatures based on your own preferences. Hire a HVAC professional to determine which type of system is best for your home.

Air conditioners and dehumidifiers are actually quite similar, though they perform different jobs. Dehumidifiers reduce moisture in the air, while air conditioners work to cool the home. A good central AC unit will naturally perform a certain level of dehumidification due to its design, but it will not be able to handle excessive levels of moisture.

Dirty filters are almost always the cause of poor airflow, so they should be regularly cleaned and then replaced as needed. The fan blades can also get dirty, so they should be cleaned when the unit is turned off. Make sure that the outdoor area around the back of the unit is unobstructed. Trees, shrubs, trash, and other objects could be too close to your unit.

A 10,000-watt generator can run a small to mid-sized central AC unit (typically up to 3 tons or 36,000 BTU) along with a few other appliances. However, larger AC units or additional loads will require a bigger generator. Consult a local generator installer to ensure you add the correct size generator to your home.
