"I hired Joel to do basic trimming & flower bed clean up and his team showed up when they said they would and completed the job in one day. Joel is fantastic to work with. I would highly recommend his team. This is not the first time we have used him. We used him for other projects and he is very knowledgeable and takes a lot of pride in his performance."

"Santos arrived promptly this afternoon to see the job and to give me a quote. When I agreed to his very reasonable amount, he said he had the time right then to get the job done. He and his wife, Maura, worked very hard and assiduously and completed the entire job in 3 hours! My yard around the fallen limbs was raked and cleaned of all twigs and debris. I am very pleased with the fine job done so expediently, and the very fair price! I recommend Santos Masonry and Landscaping for any small projects you may need in your yard or around your home! Lawns questions, answered by experts

To reduce landscaping costs, you can implement several strategies at every stage. Consider doing the work yourself (DIY) to save on professional labor fees. You can also repurpose existing features and materials from other home projects. When purchasing new items, choose more inexpensive materials and opt for softscaping over hardscaping where possible. Another effective method is to buy young plants or plant from seed, which is more cost-effective than purchasing mature plants.

Yes, it's perfectly safe and environmentally sound to mulch leaves with a lawn mower, provided that the layer of leaves isn't too thick and the leaves are dry and crispy. Too many wet leaves get sticky and will clog the mower. Thick layers of leaves can suffocate the lawn after the leaves have been mulched, so the layer should be no more than six inches thick.

The time it takes for leaves to decompose can range from six months to three years. Key factors influencing the decomposition rate include water, sunlight, and heat, so local weather conditions play a significant role. Decomposition will take longer for thick, matted layers of leaves. To speed up the process, you can mulch the leaves, as smaller pieces break down faster. Spreading large piles into thinner layers to increase exposure to sunlight and water also helps accelerate decomposition.

Pulling weeds once per month is typically often enough to keep most weeds at bay. But in general, it's best to pull weeds as soon as you spot them to prevent deep root growth and slow their spread. To make it easier, plan your weed pulling after rain or after the sprinklers run so the soil will be nice and wet and the weeds will be easier to pull. If you notice moss accompanying weeds, make a plan to remove the moss immediately to prevent damage.

Long-handled telescopic brushes are the best way to clean the outside of a house without a pressure washer. There are even special attachments for cleaning the outside of windows. Use a gentle cleaning solution for both the roof and siding to avoid harming the finishes. Be sure to rinse the area thoroughly with a garden hose after scrubbing.
