"Hired them for 3 projects I have installed this basement waterproofing solution in 2 homes. System speaks for itself. Nothing better on the market. Work was first rate. Expectations were presented prior to the project. Details on what would happen and how the project would go. Would not hesitate to use again ERV installed New basement egress. This project did not go as planned, but not at the fault of basement systems. Was originally supposed to get a BILCO door but due to unforseen issues, that was not able to happen. They ended up installing a new staircase from my basement to ground level. Work was first rate and ended up better than a bilco door. Company re landscaped and everything is as it was. All work performed was top notch and no issues on anything they have done"

"I bought a house in 2021 that had significant water damage leaking through the walls onto the concrete floor in the basement. After researching multiple companies around the area, I reached out to Basement Gurus. Ashley, Boni, Josh, and owner of the company Dan Kelly, all went above and beyond to make sure that there would be no more water damage. They installed a French drain, vapor barriers, and more. The owner Dan Kelly personally came out to make sure that the work got done correctly. This company is the best around, you won't be disappointed."

"I was having some issues with water coming into the basement through the foundation and walls during rainy weather. Not flooding, or even shop vac-able volumes, just enough to be annoying and require mopping. Dominic and his crew were here today to install an under-floor drainage system and a new sump pump. I was dreading the demo (I have a concrete floor) and the mess involved, but these guys came prepared for everything! They used dust abatement measures to protect all my basement-stored items, and they removed and hauled all the debris away when finished with the excavation. What really impressed me was the concrete restoration upon completion. I've previously had a sewer line replaced through the basement floor, and the contractor really "botched" the floor repair. I can't describe how different this experience was! The concrete installed today is immaculate! Dominic takes pride in his work and with good reason! The new concrete is perfect! I am thrilled!"

"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"In 2007, I purchased my present home. Unbeknownst to me, the current owners lied on the disclosure form. They stated there were no water problems in the basement. On my first home inspection, I noticed the back basement walls (cinder block) appeared freshly painted.
I did have a home inspection. The report found there was some evidence of water penetration and the inspector recommended I speak to the current owners. The owners again reiterated the basement had no water problems.
About 6 months after moving in I noticed dark spots ?coming through? the painted cinder block walls. Also, the walls were very damp. At first, I ignored the spots. However, 2 months later my basement walls were wet and covered with large black spots. I called my plumber. When he inspected the walls he informed me it was mold and the water was penetrating from the outside.
To be brief, my home is a condo. I informed the condo management company. Over a period of almost 3 years, I have to ?battle? them to correctly fix the water problem. The association had a landscaper make two attempts to correct the water problems both attempts failed. Within a few months the black mold quickly returned.
Finally, they were going to hire an engineer to inspect and make the necessary recommendation. However, they informed me that decided not to hire an engineer and refused to correctly address the water problems. In an email, they cited the fact they worked with the previous owner to correct the water problem in the basement.
After all attempts to have the condo correct the problem, I retained an attorney.  An engineer was hired and he completed a comprehensive report. In order to obtain the cost of properly correcting the water problems, I obtained 3 estimates. The repairs were complicated because it involved a plumber, a heating contractor and a waterproofing company.   I explained to each company I needed an accurate, precise and comprehensive plan and cost to make my basement whole again.  I decided to use Rightway Water Company?s estimate. This estimate was submitted to my attorney and subsequently to the court.
After a year of litigation, I won the case against the previous owner, the condo, and the home inspection company.
I contacted Rightway Water Company, the plumber, and the heating contractor to complete the work.  The work began October 2011. The work was completed within a week. They "painted" the walls but make no attempt to remove the vast efflorescence crystals on the walls.
About 3-4 months later, I again noticed black mold forming on the walls. I quickly contacted Rightway about this new problem. I was told I needed a dehumidifier, 60-70 pint capacity. I was never told nor was it written on the estimate that I needed a dehumidifier. I further inquired if they could ?correct? the look of the walls. They told me it would cost an additional $2500.00 to put up a covering over the walls. The covering/panels would direct any water down into the drain and make the basement walls look bright and new.  I was very upset to say the least because the company owner did not include this information in his estimate. This additional cost would have been included in the settlement.
I did purchase a 60 pt dehumidifier from Costco for several hundred dollars. After 5 months of operation, I noticed the mold abatted and  the walls seemed ?dry?. . However the walls are completely stained and covered with efflorescence crystals.
Early this Fall I made another call to Rightway to see if they would ?correct? the walls. I was told there is a minimal fee I would be charged to come out to ?panel? the walls. I would do better to contact a construction contractor. They explained that their Lifetime Guarantee on all Waterproofing only applies if water collects on the basement floor. I wa rushed off the phone. My walls look terrible.
I contacted another waterproofing company on Angie?s List located in Pennsylvania. They promptly came out. It was the agent?s opinion that Rightway did a ?good? job but his company would have completed the job differently using more up-to date materials. Their estimate was about $2400.00 to remove the efflorescence and panel the walls.
I have submitted this report because Rightway should have completed a comprehensive correction of my basement that included a dehumidifier and ?paneling? the walls. Now, I will have to pay for the corrective paneling. Righway will not take responsibility for their mistakes.  It appears they did the "work" got paid, now Good Bye"

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Polyjacking can be a permanent solution to sunken concrete if you also address the underlying issue—like poor drainage—at the same time. The polyurethane material itself can last as long as or even outlast the concrete you’re lifting it with. Your sunken concrete issue will likely return if you don’t couple polyjacking with proper drainage to prevent future soil movement and sinking.

Generally speaking, push piers—or steel piers—are the best option for underpinning, as they reach down to solid bedrock to find support for your foundation rather than relying on soil, which could be subject to the same issues as the soil directly below your foundation. However, the best underpinning method for your home depends on your location, how far down the bedrock is, and the type of soil in your area. Helical piers are usually the best option for sandy soil or in areas where the bedrock is too deep to use steel piers.

Pros often use mudjacking or polyurethane foam injection to level a sunken concrete patio. Both methods lift the slab by filling voids beneath it. After properly compacting the soil beneath it to prevent future settling, the concrete may need to be removed and re-poured for severe sinking.

Concrete leveling is not typically covered by insurance. In some cases where the shifting concrete is caused by a natural disaster or storm, you may be able to file an insurance claim if your policy specifically covers those circumstances. In most cases, though, you’ll pay out-of-pocket for concrete leveling.

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.
